The Financial Regulation Team unit, within the London based Compliance Department at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (pwc), is looking for a Compliance / Risk Practitioner to assist with the management of the Practice support function - in terms of the Firm's legal and regulatory responsibilities, in the areas of AML and FCA regulation.
We are looking for candidates who:
• Are enthusiastic about developing themselves and others; have an aptitude for digesting and interpreting regulations in order to provide guidance and direction to the Practice; • Are highly motivated and confident to work independently, but with support from more experienced subject matter experts; • Have a proven ability to work to deadlines; • Have some 'academic' awareness or 'hands on' experience of AML and/or FCA regulation.
About the role
Following the departure of a long serving AML member of the Financial Regulation Team , a vacancy has arisen which will provide a stimulating and challenging opportunity to:
• Develop an industry specialism which provides career choices both within the firm & wider marketplace; • Gain experience of the PwC approach to Compliance disciplines and in particular AML & FCA regulation; • Acquire knowledge of the 'products' and services offered by the firm; • Develop transferable relationship management skills, by dealing with senior partners & staff within the firm on regulatory compliance matters and sensitive client issues.
The Financial Regulation Team sits within the R&Q; Compliance Department and comprises eight team members.
The post holder reports to the requisite specialism leader and provides management support and day to day oversight of the other members of the Financial Regulatory Team in order to achieve common objectives.
The main purpose of the Financial Regulatory Team is to support the Money Laundering Reporting Office (MLRO) and Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring that the firm discharges its legal and regulatory responsibilities.
The Manager's areas of primary responsibility are AML Client Identification, Suspicious Activity Reporting, Financial Sanctions, Training, Monitoring, Technical Reviews and the provision of regulatory advice to the business in respect of AML and FCA areas.
The Manager is responsible for managing their own workload, in consultation with the specialism leaders, as well as supervising and coaching the team of Advisors. As and when required, the post holder will stand in for a specialism leader - ensuring that all relevant matters are brought to the attention of the MLRO/Chief Compliance Officer.

The Financial Regulatory Team works with all business areas of the Practice to ensure that the firm meets its legal and regulatory responsibilities. The role holder, together with the other manager positions, supports this by taking responsibility in areas relating to:
• The development of AML and FCA policy and procedures; • Periodic monitoring; • The provision of subject matter advice to the practice • Suspicious Activity Reporting • Financial sanctions screening • Awareness and training • Formulation of the firm's response to regulatory initiatives

Educated to graduate diploma professional qualification, from the International Compliance Association or equivalent qualification (Level 4 recognition from an alternative relevant professional body).
Experience within the Risk Management / Compliance / Forensic Services functions of a Professional or Financial Services firm.
