Job descriptionThis role represents an opportunity for a qualified accountant to help develop and manage the Finance function within Safran UK.
The key requirements of this role are to provide timely and accurate Financial MI, ensure adherence to Safran Finance procedures and controls, and to ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
Additional descriptionEssential duties:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, and completion of consolidation pack for Head Office in France
- Ensure pension fund liability and related tax balances are accounted and reported correctly
- Preparation of standard Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Monthly Inter-Company reconciliation and reporting
- Completion and submission of the VAT return
- Assist in preparing the annual budget & rolling forecast
- Auditor liaison and preparation of annual accounts and tax computations
- Assist with Safran Shared Services recharge management, from calculation through to invoicing and debtor liaison
- Internal Control evaluation and testing
- Ensure all data, filing and records are kept up-to-date and comply with statutory retention periods
- Assist with systems development and configuration as required
- Develop excellent cross functional relationships, to interface up, down and across the organisation
- Work collaboratively with all Safran UK stakeholders to meet their needs and foster a positive work culture
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with Safran UK Accounts Payable processing in the short term (low volume)
- Assist with Safran UK Accounts Receivable processing in the short term (low volume)
- Staff expense processing in the short term (low volume)
- Ad hoc queries and projects as required
Travel specifictityIn frequent travel will be required to France and other Safran sites in the UK.
Candidate skills & requirementsEssential:
CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant
Team Player, ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
Strong 'can do' attitude
Ability to follow policies and procedures
Communication skills - verbal and written
Influencing skills
Planning and organisational skills
Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products (particularly Excel)
Pension fund accounting experience - FRS17 and related reporting requirements.
Microsoft Dynamics experience.
SAP experience
SAP implementation experience
Business Objects consolidation suite experience
French language skills
