TECHNICAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (CUSTOMER OPERATIONS)

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Technical Training Instructor delivers specialized courses on industry-leading Customer Operations competencies developed by NI’s Operational Effectiveness organization. This position partners with an extended team of SMEs and L&D specialists in ensuring all training materials and courses remain current and effective. This L&D professional must remain current on NI’s Customer Operations job creation and hiring processes, timelines and resulting onboarding needs to effectively manage and deliver the new-employee onboarding program and other training and development solutions. 

CORE EXPECTATIONS 

  • Provide technical end-user training on foundational knowledge, skills and competencies for Core Customer Operations, Services Operations, and other functions across Operational Effectiveness and the larger Customer Operations organization, using various methods and formats. 

  • Continually work with other L&D specialists and internal subject matter experts to gain deep understanding of Customer Operations onboarding and upskilling needs. 

  • Analyzes and assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with leadership, instructors, and CSRs. 

  • Formulates training outlines and determines instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individual training, group instruction, meetings, job aids, demonstrations, role-playing exercises, and workshops. 

  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods. 

  • Evaluates training materials and program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. 

  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements. 

  • Proactively seeks to maintain knowledge of the trends and best practices in training and development.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources or Communications, or any other related field with transferable skills and experiences to fulfill this role. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, SharePoint, CRM and ERP ecosystems. 

  • At least 3 years of solid technical training experience focused on Sales, Operations, or similar customer-facing roles. 

  • Preferred experience in the Software or High-Technology Industry. 

  • 100% fluency in English and the ability to conduct meetings, deliver training and develop content in English.
