Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer

position.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical engineering (layouts, piping, equipment modeling, sizing and specifications) as part of the engineering team to develop a complete solution for a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
  • Estimation of capital and operating costs of WWTP
  • Optimize the design of mechanical system components or equipment
  • Supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates
  • Identify needs and opportunities for training/development of team members
  • Supervise and advise construction team for installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Coordinate mechanical design with satellite offices
  • Preparation of mechanical engineering related documents:
    • P&ID drawing
    • Equipment list and load list
    • Hydraulic loss calculation, preparing Hydraulic Flow Diagram
    • General arrangement drawings
    • Piping layouts, sections
    • Equipment selection, sizing
  • Involvement in the preparation of tenders, offers, information documents
  • Involvement in preparation of the project budget and schedule
  • On the delegation of the Chief Design Engineer check the work of other mechanical engineers
  • Coordinate with engineers of other disciplines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (hydraulic)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a variety of mechanical engineering positions
  • Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 3 years’ experience in Wastewater Treatment
  • Preference will be given to candidates with participation experience in constraction works
  • Basic knowledge about wastewater treatment and technologies
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, fabrication, tanks, valves etc.
  • Expert skills at MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Extensive knowledge about Mechanical design softwares
  • Excellent command over written and spoken English
  • Practical knowledge of use of ACAD / REVIT design software
  • Open to travel for project support at field installations both in Hungary and internationally
