Further afield, new EU regulations and global agreements enforced in UK are driving yet more reform of recovery plans, derivatives, capital & liquidity, regulatory reporting, remuneration and incentives.

Our Financial Services Risk and Regulation team is made up of over 50 partners and 800 professional staff and our numbers and capabilities are expanding every day.
With the increasing regulatory emphasis on treating customers fairly, and achieving good customer outcomes, we help our clients ensure they are compliant with internal and regulatory requirements. Evolving regulatory requirements and expectation means existing remediation and redress programmes often require review or recalibration.
We work across the full lifecycle of redress and remediation programmes, from advising on policy, process and programme design to providing resource and technology to support the execution of existing and new programmes (including fully outsourced options), and providing quality assurance and monitoring support.
Working with our multi-disciplinary team, consisting of experienced legal, compliance and regulatory risk specialists, including ex-regulators, who not only know the FCA rule book, to include conduct, prudential, and firm authorisation, but have also implemented and assessed compliance against it, you will be helping PwC and its clients with the work such as:
• Understanding and responding to proposed regulations and industry developments • Advice and assistance with regulatory relations and in meeting regulatory standards and expectations - aligning to industry best practice and FCA / PRA requirements • Assessment of current and future organisational risk profiles and control assessments and applying new regulations on past and future business activities • Helping design, build, operationalise and manage redress and remediation programmes • Providing high quality technical support and quality assurance over client redress and remediation engagements
Assistance and support in dealing with regulatory enforcement actions and remediation exercises - getting businesses back on an even keel quickly.
About the roleAs a Director in Redress & Remediation you would be responsible for the following:
• Identifying and developing opportunities and winning new business, through marketing and sales activities and continuous client contact programmes with senior and executive level client staff • Networking with clients, prospective clients and internally across PwC, developing ongoing relationships and leveraging these where possible into project opportunities • Acting as the engagement leader for projects - leading project teams on client sites and being responsible for senior level client liaison • Taking responsibility for the overall quality of reports; making oral presentations of findings/recommendations to client Board and management team(s) • Being an established 'subject matter expert' relating to operational and regulatory remediation and redress services for clients potentially across product suites and sectors • People development, mentoring and coaching, including management of client facing team • Taking responsibility for developing a broader capability with additional talent, as business allows • Leading teams to deliver large and complex projects for the client.

The role will be based in London; however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be required to work in all parts of the UK and continental Europe, sometimes at short notice and sometimes over lengthy periods of time.
RequirementsEssential skills:
• Degree educated or equivalent/relevant professional qualifications • Broad and established senior level experience within the financial services industry within capital markets, investment banking, retail & commercial banking, asset management, or insurance • Excellent knowledge of financial services products or operational processes and controls and /or demonstrable subject matter expertise related to a key area of financial services • Strong analytical mindset and professional scepticism, with a proactive interest to learn about new technical areas • Excellent project management skills demonstrated through leading a number large or complex projects • The ability to stay abreast of regulatory developments driving the industry and key issues affecting regulated firms so as to anticipate and understand the impact of such developments on clients • The confidence and skill to interpret and discuss governance and regulatory principles with senior stakeholders • Excellent communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others • A wide network of senior client relationships capable of being leveraged for commercial purposes • Drive and determination to win new work, build our reputation and expand our service offerings to our clients • The ability to make new client contacts, listen to their needs and interpret this to provide new opportunities to assist them • A proven track record in identifying new opportunities with existing clients / engagements i.e. on-sell work. • Experience in leading teams; respecting and valuing all people and encouraging different perspectives • The ability to mentor other members of the team and support their development • Experience in building internal networks - proactively using these for technical input on engagements and/or to identify opportunities as a broader technical team. • The ability to manage budgeting, resourcing, billing and compliance considerations
