Director of Product Management, EMEA

Purpose of the job Reporting to the Vice President of Product Design Development, you will be responsible for the direction, management and performance of the EMEA Product Management team. You will develop and execute the product strategy for the EMEA region to support the commercial business objectives. You will leverage corporate resources and align with Herman Miller brand and corporate direction to further increase sales and contribution for the EMEA business. Specific responsibilities • To support the Commerical VP's and Director's in order to enable the achievement of sales, income and 'Chart of Works' goals in the EMEA region. • To lead the creation of the product vision, strategy and goals. • To develop and maintain relationships with key business partners e.g. suppliers, customers, dealers and corporate resources. • To ensure resources are appropriately deployed in each market to achieve sales and profit goals. • Partner with R D for the commercialisation of new products. • Develops, implements and monitors organisational policies, practices and standards. • Assists in the sales process to ensure the product is presented and applied in the most effective manner. • Identifies merchandising needs for the category and drives the content development for all marketing communications. • Translates consumer demands/insights in developing new and existing products. • Partner with Operations team on goals such as cost reduction, lead times, quality, and productivity to deliver results that align with business objectives. • Accountable for determining and maintaining appropriate staffing levels, employee development and maintaining a positive employee relations environment. • Develops the general management, product management and leadership skills of the Product Management Team. • Influences team to achieve goals through effective mentoring and coaching of Product Managers. • Performs other duties as required. Business Degree or equivalent Strategic marketing and planning skills Preferred: Masters Degree or equivalent Ideally 5 years experience of commercial leadership Furniture industry experience Competences Technology literate High business and financial literacy Proven motivational and influencing skills. Commercial skills Cultural awareness Leadership ability Able to think strategically and execute tactically Expert communication skills Good organisational and prioritisation skills Good networking skills Characteristics Ability to effectively use office automation / communication software and tools used in the HMI office environment. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically coupled with strong decision making skills. Outstanding communication skills and a proven capability to present complex concepts in a concise and understandable way to a variety of audiences, including senior management and customer groups. Must possess highly developed financial literacy and proven business acumen. Ability to lead through influence in nontraditional organizational structures.
