We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager and Senior Manager to join our Corporate Tax team, based in Southampton.
Primarily the candidate will be working in our Southampton office, part of the South East region which also includes offices in Uxbridge, Reading, St. Albans, Norwich, Cambridge and Gatwick, with periodic visits to regional PwC or client sites depending on our business needs.
Our Southampton office provides services to a wide range of clients from listed companies, private equity backed groups, inbound groups to a growing number of mid-sized owner-managed businesses. The office is responsible for a small amount of compliance and tax accounting assistance, but is primarily focussed on advisory, structuring and project based work. Given the focus of the role on advisory work there is scope for real technical development which is supported by on-the-job training, formal training courses and also the local team's programme of weekly technical discussion groups.

About the role
The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Proactively managing a portfolio of medium to large sized corporate tax clients.
• Establishing effective working relationships with appropriate levels of client staff.
• Being proactively involved in the financial management of the client.
• Contributing to the development of personal and team knowledge.
• Building your own network of contacts through regular attendance at internal and external meetings.
• Keeping up-to-date with proposed and actual changes in law and in the firm's products and services.
• Keeping up-to-date with local and national business and economic issues that might potentially impact on clients and /or their industry.
The successful candidate will have day-to-day responsibility for managing on-going client relationships as well as undertaking advisory projects. As a manager, you will be part of client service and project teams. On smaller/mid-tier clients it is likely that successful candidates will report directly to the partner/director on the account. On larger clients there might also be a senior manager on the account. In either case, managing both junior and more senior members of the relevant teams will be essential as well as developing your role within those teams.

· Qualified ACA / CTA (or equivalent)
· A strong academic background;
· Relevant experience gained ideally in an accountancy / legal firm.
