PwC Corporate Finance is seeking a Manager to join its established Technology, Media & Telecoms ("TMT") team. The sector team has a strong reputation and heritage and has invested in recent senior hires in both London and Silicon Valley to expand further. The franchise covers corporate and private equity clients with extensive credentials in domestic and cross-border M&A;, particularly in selling private companies to overseas strategic acquirers and financial investors, as well as undertaking selective acquisition and public company advisory work.
Technology represents typically 85% or more of European TMT deal activity by volume hence this sector is the team's prime area of focus, with additional coverage of media (especially digital media and information services) and occasional coverage of telecom services. The team addresses the mid-market, which is the most active transaction size segment, being deals valued typically between £50m to £500m and the PwC team competes almost entirely with leading sector-focused investment banks and boutiques.
Recent TMT transactions advised by PwC Corporate Finance include:
• The sale of CarTrawler by ECI and management to BC Partners
• The sale of Epyx by HgCapital and management to FleetCor
• The sale of Amor by Growth Capital and management to Lockheed Martin
• The sale of OB10 by Fleming Family & Partners and management to Tungsten Corporation
TMT is a priority sector for PwC globally across all service lines and our Corporate Finance team and is looking to increase in scale and presence. In joining the team you will be expected to play a full part in supporting our growth plans.
About the role
Working as a Manager within the team, the role will involve the following:
• Preparation of information memorandum, business plans, client presentations and pitch documents
• Participation in client presentations and meetings
• Detailed industry and company analysis
• Financial modelling and analysis of transactions
• Preparation and co-ordination of project deliverables
• Project managing transactions and liaising with multiple parties
• Managing teams or people and acting as a coach and mentor to junior team members
• Regular networking at internal and external events
We would expect interested applicants to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
• CA or ACA qualification or equivalent experience gained in a banking or consulting training programme
• Demonstrable experience in an M&A; transaction environment
• Strong financial modelling and analysis capabilities
• Client focus and flexible/agile worker
• Willingness and ability to learn quickly
• Strong analytical skills and ability to grasp commercial issues
• Strong attention to detail whilst retaining an open mind to new ideas
• Strong written skills with demonstrable experience of producing high quality, tailored documents
• Ability to build effective working relationships and to work in teams
• Ability to work with a range of clients from entrepreneurs to corporates
• Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others
• Experience of managing teams and acting as a coach to junior team members
• Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple commitments
• Highly proficient in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
