As a result of the teams current activity levels and the anticipated level of deal flow over at least the next 2 years, the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sector team (undertaking both Government and M&A; work) is now seeking to recruit two new team members at the senior associate level (in Manchester).
These opportunities would represent an exceptional opportunity to move into a corporate finance role and to gain immediate exposure to transactional activity (predominantly focussed on the Government Healthcare sector) within a strong team of experienced advisors within PwC Corporate Finance (CF)
The ideal individuals will be able to demonstrate a sustained level of high performance within the firm/externally to date and strong academic track record. We would also expect the individuals to be confident, personable and extremely comfortable with numbers.
About the role
As a senior associate within the (national) team, the individuals would expect to be involved in the following types of work:
• Financial modelling and analysis of transactions; • Investment appraisal, financial and economic analysis; • Supporting the preparation of procurement and transaction documents; • Preparation of client presentations and pitch documents; • Industry and company specific research; • Day to day project work on live transactions (e.g. drafting information memoranda, support in structuring transactions, developing business and investment cases, and liaising with clients and other advisers); • Business development activities including identification and targeting of potential opportunities.
We would expect interested applicants to be able to demonstrate the following attributes.
• ACA (or similar) exam qualified; • Strong analytical skills and an ability to think laterally; • Ability to grasp complex commercial issues quickly ; • Strong attention to detail with an ability to also see the big picture; • Commercial curiosity and demonstrable interest in corporate finance matters; • High level of MS Excel proficiency; • High ambition coupled with the ability to deliver and to work effectively in teams; • Good commercial judgement and independence of mind; • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others; • Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple commitments; • Willingness to participate in marketing and business development;
• Pharmaceutical or Healthcare sector experience would be desirable but is by no means essential, demonstrable commercial curiosity and an interest in the sector with appetite to learn is more important.
