As a result of recent growth and continuing opportunity in the UK and beyond, PwC Corporate Finance is seeking an Assistant Director to join its successful, fast growing Financial Services team. The team provides a full spectrum of independent Corporate Finance services including acquisitions, disposals, capital raisings, strategic options reviews and business valuations. The team provides advice across the banking, payments, insurance and investment management sectors and clients include large and mid-tier corporates, private equity houses and entrepreneurs.
The role provides an exceptional opportunity to move into a high performing FS CF team benefiting from access to the wider PwC FS industry group of over [3,000] specialists.. Financial Services is a priority growth sector across our Deals businesses and the firm and this role represents an opportunity to contribute to this growth.
About the role
Working as an Assistant Director within the team, the role will involve the following:
• Developing and maintaining internal and external networks and building client relationships
• Preparing for key proposals and presentations for new business
• Managing the execution of transactions, including planning our approach and taking day-to-day responsibility for execution through to completion
• Acting as the key point of contact for clients on particular transactions
• Coaching and developing junior staff
• Reviewing financial models and producing and presenting valuations, together with associated commentary
We would expect interested applicants to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
• Extensive experience within the financial services sector, This will have been gained either through working in an investment bank, corporate M&A; function, boutique advisory firm, private equity house, strategy consultancy or "Big 4" professional services firm
• Good understanding of the financial services sector, including capital and regulatory issue impacting the sector
• Ability successfully lead project teams, develop team members and work collaboratively
• Strong financial modelling capability and experience
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to think laterally
• Good attention to detail combined with ability to see the big picture
• Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple commitments
• Ability to identify opportunities for revenue growth
• Ability to convert analysis into various outputs to present results in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to synthesise robust arguments and defend them in an articulate manner
• Excellent client facing skills and history of significant client exposure
Whilst not a requirement the following additional experience and skills would be advantageous:
• Evidence of existing network of client relationships and track record of revenue generation
• Track record of undertaking deals in the insurance and/or asset management sector
