PricewaterhouseCoopers' Corporate Finance team is seeking an Assistant Director to join its growing Energy and Utilities team. The focus of the role will be the renewable and low carbon sector; however broader relevant experience especially in either the waste sector and/or regulated utilities would be advantageous.
Globally PricewaterhouseCoopers is one of the leading providers of advisory services in the infrastructure market, which includes our fast growing Energy and Utilities team. Within the Energy and Utilities team we provide a range of services to our clients including financial structuring, primary financings and secondary market M&A.; Within the renewable and low carbon sector our team has experience across all the major technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, nuclear, biomass, offshore transmission, energy from waste and smart metering. Our clients include independent developers, financial investors, utilities and governments both within the UK and more broadly across EMEA.
PwC's Corporate Finance team in the UK is looking to accelerate its growth with Energy & Utilities being a key priority sector, in joining our team you can play a part in supporting our growth plans.
About the role
Working as an Assistant Director within the team, the role will involve the following:
• Day-to-day management of projects
• Acting as the key point of contact for clients
• Overseeing the work of project teams and coaching junior staff
• Structuring and arranging financing solutions, including negotiating with funders
• Advising on secondary market M&A; transactions, either on the buy or sell side
• Overseeing complex financial modelling to support options analysis, primary financings or secondary market engagements
• Supporting business development activities, including building client relationships, identifying opportunities and pitching for work
• Developing and maintaining internal and external network to be used for both business development and sourcing of funding
We would expect interested applicants to be able to demonstrate the majority of the following attributes:
• Extensive experience within the renewable and low carbon sector combined with broader energy & utility/infrastructure sector experience
• Experience of working with different client types including independent developers, financial investors, utilities and public sector clients
• Secondary market M&A; experience, working on either the buy or sell side
• Comprehensive understanding and experience of structuring and arranging project financing and/or capital market financing solutions
• Ability to successfully lead project teams, develop team members and work collaboratively
• Strong financial modelling capability
• Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to grasp and present complex commercial and financing issues effectively
• Strong attention to detail combined with ability to see the big picture
• Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple commitments
• Ability to synthesise robust arguments and defend them in an articulate manner
• Excellent client facing skills and history or significant client exposure
Evidence of existing network of client relationships and track record of revenue generation plus either an ACA or similar qualification (CFA etc) would be beneficial.
