PwC are currently seeking to recruit Manager grade individuals with the following Financial Services (FS) sector emphasis
• Retail and Commercial Banking,
• Capital Markets, OR
• Life and Non-Life Insurance and Investment Management
You will need to have relevant Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) skills and experience to focus on delivering change projects with a focus on Finance transformation as part of a senior PwC / Client team and will be working across our FS Clients
You will be part of a highly skilled, specialist team within a wider group of finance change professionals. At the same time, you will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas. Our work is focused on providing FS clients with better, faster and more cost effective information, both financial and non-financial. There is an increased focus on transparency within the marketplace whilst needing to satisfy ever-increasing regulatory requirements in parallel. Our FS client base covers a breadth of FTSE100 organisations spanning Retail and Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Life and Non-Life Insurance and Investment Management

Finance Consulting is one of our key competency areas providing finance advisory and change support to industry leading clients across a range of topics including EPM, Shared Services, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Corporate Treasury (CT) and Product Control improvement.

EPM helps organisations to deliver on their strategic objectives by engaging the workforce to perform against well planned targets and rewarding behaviour that delivers the right measureable outcomes. This requires transformation across a range of typically Finance led disciplines including KPI definition, planning, budgeting and forecasting, group reporting and consolidation, management reporting and analysis and profitability and cost management. These projects typically centre on large scale change across systems, data, process and people.

Other more general skills we are looking for include general consulting skills particularly around developing client relationships and business development, an understanding of contemporary themes in Finance (especially in the FS sector) and a track record of sales and delivery within a similar environment.

About the role
This role will be mainly client-side, leading teams and supporting transformational work and change engagements, with some business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivering change projects with a focus on Finance transformation as part of a mixed PwC / client team.
• Contributing to our continued thought leadership to ensure that appropriate solutions are developed for our FS clients.
• It is probable that your work will be part of wider transformational programmes and hence exposure to other finance and non-finance processes is desirable.
• Building relationships with our key FS clients across Retail and Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance and Investment Management sectors;
• Identifying client needs and proposing solutions to them;
• Leading the delivery of projects;
• Developing the careers of the teams working with and reporting to you;
• Supporting the leadership team in the Finance Effectiveness practice; and
• Maintaining a consistently high and leading edge market profile.
As a Manager grade, your direct reporting line will be to a Senior Manager or Director. You will work as a key member of our team and be expected to lead work-streams or smaller engagements (team sizes will vary depending on client/ project).

Joining our team as a Manager, we would expect all applicants to have significant experience of large change projects and performance management programmes, preferably within a major blue chip or consulting environment.
FS experience is essential but candidates will also be given credit for experience outside of FS in EPM.
In addition, we require all candidates to have:
Essential skills:
• Education to Degree level as a minimum;
• Experience of delivering projects in one or more of the following areas: Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, Financial Consolidation and Group Reporting, Management Reporting and Analysis, Profitability and Cost Management and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Balanced Scorecard definition;
• A knowledge of EPM:
• systems and relevant software (including Business Intelligence);
• data solutions and related issues within FS clients; and/ or
• best practice processes.
• Demonstrable experience of involvement in a programme/ project throughout the full lifecycle of design, build and implementation;
• Demonstrated ability to advise management on alternative solutions and risks with experience of presenting and influencing; and
• Understanding of finance operating models, key business drivers and commercial information reporting systems in a FS or multi-national corporate environment.
Desirable skills:
• Professional qualifications from recognised Institutes such as ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA are highly valued but not essential;
• Experience in key FS industry Finance issues e.g. Solvency II, Basel II/ III, IFRS for Financial Services, MCEV, FDG regulatory, etc. is highly desirable but not essential;
• Preference will also be given to candidates with well demonstrated consulting experience, but execution of EPM projects from a client side is also desired;
• Confident approach, self motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written);
• A flexible & team focused working style within a multi-functional team;
• Demonstrated experience of managing a team;
• Experience of working in an international environment is highly desirable but not essential; and
• First class delivery skills of large, complex projects.
