Our client based in Westminster are currently recruiting a Care Assistant for shift work including evenings, weekends and nights. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective administration of medication in line with individual care plans and company policy when trained to do so. You will also assist residents with individual and group activities, including social interaction, in line with individual care and support plans. Identify any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure they are dealt with appropriately, responding positively to complaints and any breakdowns in service.
Duties to include but not limited to:
  • Fully understand and fulfil responsibilities in respect of both health & safety and equality & diversity at all times.
  • Provide older people with high quality nursing and residential care throughout the country.
  • Homes offer a wide range of high quality care options including respite, palliative and specialist dementia care.
  • Contribute, as appropriate, to special projects and change programmes
  • Provide a quality care and support service for residents taking into consideration their personal preferences, under supervision and in line with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the safe and effective administration of medication in line with individual care plans and company policy when trained to do so.
  • Assist residents with individual and group activities, including social interaction, in line with individual care and support plans. Identify any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure they are dealt with appropriately, responding positively to complaints and any breakdowns in service.
  • Deliver personal care and treat residents with dignity, respect and kindness.
  • Provide support to residents to make personal choices that will enrich their lives whilst maintaining their dignity.
  • Ensure that care plans are continually tailored to individual needs with the involvement of the resident in order that the appropriate level of support is provided for all aspects of daily living.
  • Support with risk assessments to ensure that care and support is provided in line with the relevant health and safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE grade C English and Maths
  • Work Experience of working with a similar client group in the care sector
This is a Temporary role but could possibly become permanent
