At PwC, our Capital Project Services (CPS) team primarily consists of Project Managers and Engineers who advise clients on the business issues relating to the delivery of large and complex projects, providing leadership in the implementation and delivery using engineering-based project and programme management solutions. Our team is rapidly expanding to support large growth in supporting global investment banks and other Financial Services institutions with project and programme management solutions.
Our clients who are implementing major capital, regulatory and change projects face risk throughout the course of their business and that's where we come in. Our team advises clients on the business issues relating to the delivery of business critical projects, provides strategic project and programme management solutions and we also provide project recovery services for projects that are in crisis or distress. It's our deep project management expertise and extensive operational experience in project intensive organisations that enables us to successfully help our clients drive and successfully deliver their projects.

If you're successful you'll work in multi-disciplinary teams undertaking client work which includes for example:
• Managing and delivering assignments, sometimes working as part of a team or independently depending on the size of the assignment • Developing client relationships, contributing to business development helping to grow this exciting business • Creating innovative project management solutions for our clients • Mentoring and coaching staff • Face-to-face contact with clients and their professional advisors
You will have an engineering degree, ideally a Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer or certified as a project manager with APM or PMI, and a background in the design, implementation and delivery of large, complex projects within industry.
As well as good practical work experience, ideally gained within a large contractor, consultancy or client organisation, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
• Strong technical skills in project management (budgeting and cost management, planning, earned value management, risk management, governance and control) • Proven experience of successfully working on complex projects • Ability to operate effectively in unfamiliar environments, remaining calm under pressure and agile in approach • Team player skills, i.e. comfortable working with client staff and colleagues of all grades and backgrounds • Ability to speak with clarity and conviction in business presentations to senior stakeholders • Consulting with clients in a business critical projects environment • Contractual arrangements • Experience of using critical path planning software (Primavera P6 or MS Project) • Excellent IT skills
Additional experience which would be very relevant includes:
• Financial Services experience • Advising clients on risks relating to capital and non-capital projects • Providing assurance to stakeholders on capital projects • Knowledge of contract law • Consulting or delivery experience in the IT industry • Design and implementation of management information and workflow tools
