We are strengthening our Financial Services risk & regulation practice as our clients across Banking & Capital Markets continue to face significant shifts in the regulatory environment.
In order to build a resilient position from which to return value to stakeholders, financial services organisations must adjust their strategies and operating models to make them more customer-centric; and must embed a complimentary culture.
Our expertise is brought together in our Financial Services Risk and Regulation team made up of over 50 partners and 800 professional staff covering the following areas of expertise:

• Risk analytics and Prudential reporting;
• Conduct, culture and the customer;
• Operational resilience;
• Redress and remediation.
Operational Resilience - Business Resilience

Operational resilience is at the heart of what we do in Financial Services Risk and Regulation. We help our clients to manage and design everything from governance and controls to systems and data processes. And this makes sure our clients can provide transparent assurance to their stakeholders that they are doing the right thing.
Whether designing a strategic approach to Risk and Regulation, or helping to respond when something has gone wrong, we have the skills and expertise to find the right solution.
We are specifically looking for candidates to join our Business Resilience practice within Operational Resilience. Business Resilience is focussed on providing consulting advice and remediation services to help our banking clients tackle the operational risks arising from their business. Business Resilience areas of focus include:
• Enterprise Risk Frameworks - we work with our clients to identify areas where they can benefit from greater governance, control and risk frameworks. We support them in building and / or remediating risk and control frameworks across functions, for example operational risk frameworks and provide ongoing assurance that they are on the right track to promote informed risk-based decision-making. These services can be in the form of consulting advice, implementation support or review and recommend reports.
• Valuation Control - we provide services to clients on their operating models, governance and controls as well as the implementation of new regulation and accounting standards related to the valuation and risk management of financial instruments. These services can be in the form of consulting advice, implementation support or review and recommend reports. We work with Product Control, Risk and Front Office functions to design, implement and assess controls related to the valuation and risk management of financial instruments.
• Cultures and Behaviours - we work to help our clients understand how to effectively measure and monitor culture and behaviours. We focus on alignment to a firm's purpose, vision and values, seek to understand what drives behaviour in our clients' environments, and recommend specific improvements to build confidence and improve performance.
• Response Management - we work to help our clients plan for and implement remediation plans as long term solutions in response to business and regulatory crisis. Examples include assistance with Recovery and Resolution planning, remediation and redress ie. PPI, client money matters, etc.
About the role
Senior Associate Responsibilities:
Being a member of a team on large and small engagements - working as part of a project team on client sites and day-to-day liaison with clients on:
Responding to regulation, ie Recovery and Resolution planning
Supporting the build out of risk and control frameworks
Review and subsequent remediation of governance, controls and processes
Assessment and enhancement of organisation wide culture and behaviours
Relationship building and networking with clients and internally across PwC
Preparing client deliverables and written reports
Understanding and responding to proposed regulations and industry developments, related to capital markets clients (specifically banks)
Developing others and one-self
• Experience in delivering advisory or consultancy services to capital markets institutions (specifically banks); on risk frameworks, governance, controls and related processes is highly preferable and / or audit experience on banking and capital markets clients
• An understanding of the banking industry and related regulatory environment
• Educated to degree level , preferred to be coupled with further accountancy or other professional qualifications (ACA, CIMA, CCA or equivalent)
• Strong client handling and relationship management skills are essential as well as experience in project management
• Strong analytical skills with experience problem solving and being able to implement and deliver solutions tailored to a client's needs
• Willingness to expand technical knowledge in a broad range of client facing projects
