PwC are currently looking for a Senior Manager to join our Financial Services Regulatory team within the Insurance and Investment Management Business unit in London to specialise in regulatory issues for asset and wealth managers. We are looking for somebody with experience of the UK investment management market and UK regulatory environment and who is technically proficient in the FCA regime. The candidate may have a regulatory, in-house legal or accountancy background - the team has a diverse and rich mix of skill sets and experience which is highly valued.

Our expertise is brought together in our Financial Services Risk and Regulation team made up of over 50 partners and 800 professional staff covering the following areas of expertise:
• Conduct, culture and the customer
• Operational resilience;
• Redress and remediation; and
• Risk Analytics and Prudential Supervision.
We are strengthening our Financial Services risk & regulation practice as our clients across Investment Management continue to face significant shifts in the regulatory environment.
About the role
We are a market leading investment management financial services regulatory team with a successful track record in providing consultancy advice to clients across a broad spectrum of the asset management industry. We have significant growth plans and are looking for an ambitious and dedicated professional advisor to help us achieve this growth.
As part of PwC's financial services regulatory practice, we work closely with colleagues in other disciplines delivering solutions. With the help of this new talent, our aim is to continue to operate in the market as the premier, investment management regulatory consulting team, interacting with all the major market participants, playing a key role in taking PwC's regulatory offerings to clients.
The team comprises experts in a number of fields including prudential requirements, conduct of business, collective investment schemes and compliance and governance. We are a mixture of lawyers, compliance professionals, ex-regulators and ex-financial services auditors and we are looking to add to our already impressive talent pool.
• Leading projects & running work streams on large engagements - working as part of a project team on client sites and day-to-day liaison with clients
• Subject matter expertise on regulatory impacts of Management Information and Data in the Investment Management sector
• Identifying and documenting key systems and controls for demonstrating compliance with applicable FCA regulations
• Taking responsibility for the preparation of reports; making oral presentations of findings/recommendations to client management team(s)
• Leading technical input by becoming the 'subject matter expert' to a number of projects relating to regulatory and compliance services for clients
• Developing opportunities and winning new business, through marketing and sales activities and continuous client contact programmes with senior client staff
• Networking with clients, prospective clients and internally across PwC
• People development, mentoring and coaching, including management of client facing team
• Technical research, responding to consultation papers from relevant regulatory bodies, providing input to the debate on development and application of policy, participating in PwC's Thought Leadership
• Taking responsibility for developing a broader capability with additional talent, as business allows.
The following skills are required for this role:
• Experience in providing consulting advice to both established assets managers and new entrants.
• The ability and desire to make new contacts, build relationships, listen to and understand client needs and interpret this into new opportunities to assist them.
• The drive and determination to win new work, build our reputation and expand our service offerings to our clients.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Good understanding of the industry and regulatory environment in the UK (or equivalent overseas market) is required.
• Technically proficient in some areas of the FCA regime and requirements including (but not necessarily expected to be an expert on all of the following): approved persons, training & competence, prudential requirements, supervisory process, principles-based regulation, client money and client assets, s.166 and enhanced supervision.
• People management, coaching and mentoring skills to contribute to leadership of client facing teams.
• An enthusiasm and commitment to working in the asset management industry and to learning new areas of regulatory expertise and applying this as part of a team based approach.
