AEW Europe is a leading European real estate investment manager with 9 offices throughout Europe, the group has over 270 employees who are responsible for over €18 billion of assets under management as at 31 December 2013. AEW Europe offers a wide spectrum of real estate investment strategies from core to opportunistic and manages a range of sector specific funds, separate accounts and club deal strategies.
Analysts are expected to support our European property funds across a number of departments giving the successful candidate an opportunity to develop a broad depth of skills
Asset Management
•Assist with preparation of annual business plans and budgets;
•Preparation and updating of portfolio cash flow projections and analysis of results;
•Preparation of quarterly asset reviews and monthly client reporting;
•Creation of time management schedule for key dates in asset management calendar;
•Technical support for property sales, financings and restructurings;
•Regular communication with local property managers, service providers and JV partners across Europe;
•Maintenance of reporting tools such as sale and leasing schedules;
•Reviewing quarterly reports from local partners;
•Developing knowledge of local markets and key players in markets across Europe
•Ad hoc projects
•Financial/cash flow modeling;
•Writing investment memos and recommendations for the investment committee;
•Co-ordinating market, legal and technical consultants throughout the acquisition due diligence process;
•Assisting deal leaders with negotiating;
•Executing transactions across Europe
Fund Management
•Assist in maintenance and review of fund performance models;
•Assist with fund analytical models including analysis of all real estate performance factors;
•Review the funds cash flow models quarterly;
•Assist with formulating annual business plans and budgets;
•Assist with the preparation of quarterly and monthly client reporting;
•Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc client reporting requirements;
•Assist with the preparation of bi-annual Advisory Board presentations;
•Assist with the maintenance of debt database and compliance for all funds.
•Strong academic record with good first degree in economics or a business/finance related subject
•Real estate or finance related higher degree an advantage
•Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
•Understanding of financial accounting, real estate valuation, and high degree of computer literacy
•Competency essential in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Packages
•Strong written and oral communications skills
•Works effectively and co-operatively as a team member
•Solicits senior level guidance on key matters
•Demonstrates strong attention to detail
•Fluent English - second language preferable (French in particular)
