Internal Auditor

position for delivering actuarial and business IA assignments in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Region

Location: 1091 Budapest, Üllői út 1.

Core tasks and responsibilities:

  • Independently executes assigned audit activities (actuarial and business operations audits on insurance processes) in accordance with the approved schedule and timeline of the country units within the Aegon Group operating in the CEE Region
  • Proactively notify it’s supervisor about constraints on the audit plan or the work
  • Perform and document audits according to the Aegon internal audit methodology and requirements
  • Formulate findings, prepare reports and respective executive summaries
  • Discuss findings with line management and senior management
  • Follow-up mitigation actions of actuarial and business audits
  • Establish good co-operative relationship with audited parties and the audit teams working locally in the CEE Countries
  • Utilizes sound analytical skills in actuarial and business audit assignments
  • Willing to travel 30% - 40% of time in a year, mainly within CEE and Europe
  • The candidate will be a team member of the actuarial center of excellence team formed on Aegon
  • Global level. In this role she/he will need to keep contact, complete necessary tasks related to this workgroup and attend internal conferences

Required skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or other professional actuarial qualification
  • Completed studies or experience in Actuarial, Mathematics, Finance or other Business related fields
  • Experience in internal audit, external audit or consulting (app. 2 years)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in / understanding of actuarial processes, practices, related technical methods, solutions and best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of business processes especially in insurance business
  • Confident in use of MS Office applications (Excel, Access)
  • Proficient in Hungarian and English language knowledge

Preferences:

  • Work experience in the actuarial area/insurance business
  • Work experience at Big4 companies
  • Internal audit experience at financial institution
  • Project management or quality assurance experiences
  • Experience with data analytics, data mining, SQL
  • Other Eastern European language knowledge (Czech, Slovak, Romanian, Polish)
