Translation Resourcing Analyst Team Leader


The purpose of the role is to lead a team of Translation Resourcing Analysts (TRAs) to ensure that translation resource is consistently secured and managed within target costs and to the time & quality standards specified by our customers.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Line manage a team of Translation Resourcing Analysts to perform translation resourcing and supplier management
  • Ensure action plans are developed and implemented in a timely fashion to address translation resourcing performance gaps (costs, quality and utilization), and that any gaps and plans are reported regularly (including at monthly Language Reviews)
  • Support team in actively managing supplier performance including ensuring that complaints are followed up and appropriate penalties are applied
  • Lead Supplier Review Meetings to ensure that supplier’s progress is monitored and unnecessary costs for proofing are avoided
  • Develop/implement smarter processes and tools that maximize efficiency, ensure quality of deliverables, minimize cost and allow easy back-ups
  • Motivate and develop team for optimum performance by achieving or exceeding utilization targets and through 1:1s, formal appraisals and development plans
  • Keep up-to-date with translation industry developments and propose/test process improvements to maintain competitive edge & process efficiencies
  • Carry out the TRA role for an agreed language(s) in a back-up capacity or in times of peak workload



Person Specification:



  • 1-2 years experience as team leader experience from within the Language Industry desirable
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Translation production tools & processes experience
  • Degree level qualification, preferably in a language related subject
  • Supplier management experience
  • Proven track record of negotiation and cost management/reporting


  • Experience of working in a multicultural and multilingual environment
  • People management experience
  • Experience in project planning
  • Knowledge of Trados, Multiterm and other technical production processes
  • Ability in gap analysis & action planning
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Self-motivated & able to work independently
  • Results-oriented and self-driven
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers to ensure good relationship building
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems and solutions
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Proactive approach to process improvements

  • Ability to handle constant change in customer requirements
  • Able to support and implement change management initiatives
  • Strategic Planning & Organizing to ensure short- and long-term resource requirements are met
