 Technical Manager - Infrastructure & OS

Description of position:    Leads a team of technical experts with detailed knowledge of the underlying platform infrastructure and operating systems utilised by the customer services.
Duties:    Duties:
• To take ownership of the consolidated technical response to major incidents where severe impact on the user community is encountered, and direct proceedings to resolve the incident in conjunction with the major incident management function.
• To lead the team to deliver approved changes to the estate and OS, and to work with in country and functional leads to determine upgrade recommendations.
• To build a strong link between the Hub and in country technical support leads as well as the infrastructure and OS functional Lead to ensure services are delivered consistently and efficiently to all customer contracts
• To provide technical leadership to the Operational teams for Infrastructure and OS Support, working closely with their peers in Apps, DB and storage management • and to comply with the Process Lead in terms of change / incident / problem etc. management
• Has responsibility for maintaining a low risk profile to the Service Operations infrastructure and OS team
Requirements, skills:    Qualifications:
· ITIL Service Management Foundation certified
· Educated to Degree standard or 5+ years exposure to the management and support of IT Service for the company
· Industry standard technical qualifications related to the technologies deployed
· Significant experience of operational management on large complex systems and multi vendor platforms.
· Ability to provide Technical, Management and Inspirational Leadership to achieve demanding targets in a diverse
Supplier / customer environment.
· Ability to continually review, deliver service and business plans with constant changing business requirements.
· High levels of understanding of complex services, aligned to ITIL service management certification.
· Understand and adapt to changing business directions adapting own and teams deliverables to the new priorities.
· Understands relevant business issues and the organizational operating procedures, and connect these to work priorities.
Known languages:    Fluent English knowledge
