Job Category: EngineeringThis role is for a System Engineering Team Lead, capable of leading and delivering System Engineering tasks within a Project Delivery System Engineering (PDSE) project and creating a dynamic system engineering environment utilising a team of system engineers taken from the core Project Delivery SE Resource Pool.
The System Engineering Team Lead will manage the resources within his SE Team, looking to build and lead a highly motivated, skilled and experienced team providing design, development and possibly deployment solutions for a specific SE Project. The key SE disciplines involved are likely to be one or more of: Customer Requirements Management; definition of the System and Sub-system Design; production of detailed Product Requirements for Development Teams to implement; Sub-system Integration, System Integration, Functional and Non-functional System Validation.
Success in the role will typically be measured primarily by the on-time and within budget delivery of their System Engineering tasks as agreed with their System Engineering Manager.
What are my responsibilities?
• Lead and advise on the aspects of their tasks, in a dynamic safety-critical and safety-related development environment
• Ensure that their team is equipped to perform the following key system engineering activities when necessary:
- Customer Requirements Capture and Analysis
- System Requirements Specification
- System Design Analysis and Specification
- Product Requirements Specification
- Interface Definition and Control
- System Verification and Integration
- System Validation
- System Application & Deployment
• Task and resource and planning
• Work package identification
• Work flow and priorities
• Risk management
• Configuration management
What do I need to qualify for this job?
• Qualification in a relevant engineering, scientific or numerate discipline with experience in systems engineering or design of safety critical or safety related real-time embedded systems (essential)
• Knowledge of the systems engineering life-cycle, cost awareness and awareness of processes involved in other engineering disciplines (essential)
• Experience in the development of large complex programmable electronic systems (essential)
• Experience in the use of requirements toolsets such as DOORS™ and formal system modelling methods (such as SysML or the UML) (essential)
• Experience of working to industry quality and safety standards (CENELEC and/or UNISIG) (essential)
