Sustainability Culture Manager (Secondment) - London, Camden, W1T 4EZ

We have a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute Sustainability Culture Manager to join our nationwide Sustainability team for a 6 month fixed term contract. In a resource-constrained world, EDF Energy needs to adapt its business to address sustainability challenges at a rapid pace. To do this, the sustainability team needs a Sustainability Culture Manager who will play a key part in developing the whole company's sustainability culture and in embedding this specifically in the Corporate and Steering Functions.

About the role
Based from our London office, you will be a senior member of the Sustainability Team, acting under guidance of the Sustainability Strategy Lead Manager but with the freedom to make some decisions independently. You will be a point of contact both internally and externally, engaging internal customers and strategic external stakeholders to make sustainability and environmental responsibility an ever-stronger part of day-to-day culture at EDF Energy.

Main Responsibilities include:
•Develop a formal, long-term sustainability and environmental responsibility culture strategy to better embed responsible business practice in procurement, project management, people policy and practice, and wider business activities.
•Work with the Business Units to develop related delivery plans, engagement programmes, sharing of best practice and monitoring of delivery. Embed these in the Corporate and Steering Functions of EDF Energy.
•Monitor the internal and external world to ensure we learn from advances in good practice and can share our own achievements externally.
•Develop and manage our ongoing programme of sustainability and environmental learning and engagement (working with HR to also embed this in company L&D and Talent and Executive Development), including:
•Our Company Makers programme, Company-wide online e-learning - Sustainable Steps. Procurement training, company-wide and corporate inductions ('My EDF Energy'). Embedding sustainability and environmental learning and development in our Campus, digital and safety programmes.
•Advise our Procurement function in development of their approach to further embedding sustainability in supply chain practice (e.g. via UNGC).
•Provide expert cross-company advice on business ethics policy and practice, linking in to HR, Employee Engagement and Legal teams as appropriate.
•Act as the interface with EDF Group on Group-wide sustainability engagement campaigns.
•Develop and implement a programme of proactive internal and external communications on sustainability (including our company website, intranet, internal magazine, Group publications).
•Provide support to key internal governance panels on sustainability and environmental matters as required.

About You
The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in political, economic, environmental, social, and legislative issues and trends affecting the energy industry and sustainability. You will have a solid background as a commercial Sustainability professional, ideally from with a large matrix organisation, with experience in planning and delivering sustainability projects and change programmes. You will also have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as an ability to influence and present to a senior level. In addition to this you must be highly analytical and have project management skills in which you are able to deliver upon areas of expertise.
