SSC Director

Job Summary:



Our partner, a multinational company operating a Shared Service Center in Budapest is hiring a senior professional with experience in running an SSC. The main purpose of the role is to maintain and drive the SSC strategy set by the Management Board.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead a world-class SSC and drive cultural change
  • Drive expansion of the SSC in accordance with agreed time scales, deliverables and milestones
  • The role-holder is responsible to drive process stabilization and optimization
  • Ensure compliance with group policies, statutory requirements and IFRS including recommendations for enhancements
  • Expand the scope of SSC activities across multi-platform’s
  • Responsible for all SSC activities and the transitional processing
  • Own the process from local business unites to the SSC and maintain and develop services
  • Working across platforms
  • Process improvement within span of control
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Drive and expand the SSC strategy globally
  • Improve efficiencies through lean tools and headcount target to ensure critical SSC roles are held
  • Resource allocation
  • Ability to build and lead team performance and improvements
  • Migration of cross-platform activities
  • Develop process efficiencies


  • Academic background – Degree / Master 10+ years’ experience in similar background/role
  • Sound evidence of continuous professional development in relevant field.
  • Good knowledge of finance processes
  • Must have experience in running an SSC 
  • Managing complex change programs
  • Process improvement methodology and a champion of seeking improvements
  • Understanding of major Accounting and ERP systems
  • Demonstrably able to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on key priorities
  • Sound judgement, decision making and problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to manage coach and develop a team of highly qualified individuals in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Performance/result oriented
  • Ability to take the SSC to the next level rather than maintaining the status queue
  • Ability to manage and influence people at both senior and junior level
  • Ability to switch between strategic and operational level
