Our client is one of the leading e-business and applications outsourcing company, providing software development and application management services to Fortune 1000 companies. Their business model utilizes service and development centres based in India whilst their employees deliver the services within Europe.

Software Tester

Main Tasks/Responsibilities

• Test case design based on delivered specifications (req. spec., use cases, system design)
• Prepare regression tests by selecting appropriate suite of existing test cases
• Plan test execution order by developing test labs (test suites)
• Report on progress of own activities
• Execute the test cases as according to the test labs
• Record deviations from expected results into defects
• Report on progress of own activities
• To ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release.
• To test each software component and demonstrate the business condition under test and the expected results.
• To provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements.
• Provide input to the Test Manager in respect of higher level documentation
• Tests software releases during the product development.
• Reports test results and enter problems and issues into the defect tracking system. Monitors and updates defect reports as needed including defect report closure.
• Configures necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
• Provides technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments.
• Writes or assists in the development of test plans and test procedures.
• Completes assigned test-related tasks.
• Manages the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
• Assists in the automation of relevant test procedures.
• Assists in review of test processes as they are developed.

Requirements:

• Fluent English
• Professional Experience: 3-5 years
• University degree (or college) of applied sciences or appropriate training or professional experience
• Knowledge of methods and several years of experience in test design and implementation on software development projects.
• Knowledge of Black Box, Integration, Regression, System and User Acceptance Testing.
• Defect management.
• Deriving High-level business scenarios, system test case generation.
• Can work in onsite – offshore model
• Independent, committed, highly conscientious personality with a focus on quality.
• Good communications skills.

Advantageous skills

• German skills
• Knowledge of software engineering (PL1, Java or web applications are an advantage)
• Banking experience is an advantage.
• Practical experience with Quality Center is an advantage.
• QTP (or comparable tools) an advantage.
• Certification as SAQ (ISTQB) Certified Tester (FL/AL) or equivalent would be an advantage.

Place of work: Budapest (Must be flexible for various travel in Europe, ie. Short and long term)
