We are seeking a Software Developer to join the International Assignment Services (IAS) Technology Group based in Embankment Place, London. The IAS Technology Group creates technology solutions for complex business problems with a focus on our client's international HR, Tax and Payroll needs. As a member of the IAS Technology team, you will play an important role in the development lifecycle of our portfolio of technology solutions.
• You will have a proven history of building and delivering software solutions built using Microsoft development tools • You would demonstrate a willingness to continually learn and upgrade your skills and knowledge as the business environment and technology evolve • You would be working alongside other software developers, business analysts and testers, reporting to the Development Manager • You would support the growth of the team through mentoring junior team members.
About the role
The IAS Technology team creates innovative, market leading solutions for our expatriate and global mobility practice. We automate business processes and solve complex business problems with custom built web and mobile technologies. The Development team analyses requirements, architect, design and build scalable, maintainable, reliable systems leveraging leading, proven testing techniques and automation tools to ensure high quality and efficient delivery of new features.

As a member of the IAS Technology team, you will play an important role in the development lifecycle of our portfolio of technology solutions. You will be responsible for contributing to projects spanning both client implementation and product teams.

As a technical team member you will be responsible and/or regularly involved in the following areas:
• Coordinating with colleagues in different geographic locations and time zones
• Designing and building solutions based on client requirements
• Participating in design, code and architecture reviews
• Managing application deployments
Essential skills needed for the role:
• SQL Server 2008/2012;
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Source Control (TFS, Subversion, Git, Mercurial)
• Object-Oriented Programming
• Solution Delivery Methodologies including traditional SDLC and Agile
• Being able to work alone or as part of a team to design and build quality software solutions
• Demonstrated understanding of the purpose of the software or functionality being built
• Building solutions that meet the requirements and acceptance criteria
• Anticipating potential problems and proactively suggesting solutions
• Driving change and continuous improvement through the adoption of solid development practices
• Determining the best implementation approach considering factors such as build time, cost, performance, scalability, reliability, security and maintainability.
Desirable skills sought for the role:
• Oracle 10+ • Web Api • IoC (Autofac, Unity, Ninject) • ORM (nHibernate, Entity Framework) • Testing Methods & Tools (TDD, BDD / xUnit, NUnit, Jasmine) • Design Patterns / Enterprise Design Patterns (Factory, Singleton, Strategy, ActiveRecord, Repository, etc.) • Separation of Concerns; IDesign Method • Mobile Development (iOS, Android) • Prior experience in building tax or international mobility software would be beneficial
