Job Category: Customer ServicesSiemens Building Technologies, Fire Safety and Security are looking for a Service Engineer to undertake the checking, testing, repair and maintenance of customers installed equipment, to cover mainly CCTV, security, access control in accordance with the terms and conditions of the service contract and as required assist with the commissioning of the changes to the systems. Additional experience in fire alarm maintenance and fault rectification would be of an advantage This role is to cover the Leeds/York corridor in the main but may be required to support any part of the Manchester office service area at times.
What are my responsibilities?
Servicing of Security and/or Fire Detection systems and its associated equipment to a British Standard requirement and is integral to a life safety system. To that goal all service activities are focused on maintaining that system functionality to a high level so as when called upon the installed system operate to the correct installed criteria.
• Will service and maintain on a variety of Security or fire detection systems to the recognised British Standards. On site physical checking of system functionality , completed to issued BS guidelines and Company Work Instructions.
• To perform necessary works as per contract agreements considering SLA and always adhering to health and safety requirements.
• Complete all required on site and office paperwork in the agreed and issued company CWI requirement.
• Complete Works Reports / Tick Sheets / Print Offs / Email / BS Certificates / Electronic Reporting. Company requirement to meet contractual agreement.
• Complete and make sure all Timesheets / Work Reports and other relevant documentation are received at the main office in the agreed company timescale.
• Complete daily relevant information , electronically or physically send to main office weekly as a minimum , personally check with main office for receipt of issued information.
• To ensure allocation of contractual time / to enable invoice preparation / to generate revenue.
• Attend and repair fault calls / achieve first time fix / participate in the company call-out rota as required
• Site attendance will be as directed via company work schedule or by direction of Service Coordination / Out of Hours E-Service / Shift Leader. This is the company requirements to meet contractual agreements.
• To actively represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
• Provide clear on site communication / clear understandable works reports / constant communication with the office / fully responsible for timely escalation of any issues or occurrences.
• To improve the customer satisfaction survey / to show to our clients we are engaged with them / to retain business and gain new.
• Attend meetings as required and team tool-box talks.
Regular process, personnel, site review with gap analysis and business improvement brainstorming.To actively participate in any arranged company training in a positive manner / to actively self learn where ever possible and be able to demonstrate that learning.
Attend arranged courses / on site experience and training by peers / self learning tools, books, internet.
To improve individual skill sets and therefore the companies ability to provide the high level of service activity expected.
• To participate in the issued company incentive scheme. Completion of leads and opportunities, to the required standard.
• To comply with any identified defects as required by BS / to provide our clients a focused service / to generate revenue.
As required participate in the delivery of Small Works / Service Projects.
• Planned scheduled work / experience and knowledge / cooperation with numerous internal and external customers. To deliver agreed services / to enhance personnel experience / to generate revenue.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
• Access control/CCTV/ANPR/Intruder systems and/or Fire Detection Systems, PA/VA systems experience
• Be able to demonstrate industry experience; proven experience on a variety of systems , examples fault finding capabilities , good experience in the relevant British Standards.
• Self-motivated with good proven analytical skills.
• Possessing a good level of commercial acumen balanced with strong customer focus. Good verbal communicator with a can do attitude.
• Good team player, supportive, calm.
• Working with a wide range of customers and sub-contractors whilst maintaining and protecting Siemens brand, includes working as part of a diverse workforce, both professionally and socially. Good communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
