Senior Product Manager / Sourcing Manager - London

Product Manager with sourcing and design capabilities who will successfully execute the timely shipment of quality, trend right product from the initial merchant vision.
Develop and execute programs with a focus on Fashion, Quality, Brand, and Price. Strategically sources and coordinates vendor site visits and product development strategies. Oversees and visits manufacturers, factories and overseas partners as required.
Works closely with European global sourcing teams on Time & Action calendars, merchandise categories and production schedules. Ensures inspection programs and company compliance guidelines are followed with regard to sourcing.
Maintains strong communication/relationships with Senior Management, Merchandise Managers, Buyers, Peers, Staff, and Vendors in global offices. Be familiar with and provide guidance on policies, procedures and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborates with merchants and all areas of global product development team
• Consistently shops all levels of stores including our own for fashion/trends/ colour direction and value
• Identifies potential opportunities across all areas in the marketplace. Drives process to ensure delivery of quality, on time product.

• Recommends new techniques, fabrics, finishes to Merchants that ensure that private label product incorporates the most current market trends
• Ensures styling details are clearly communicated and understood by Vendors
• Extensive domestic and international travel required to develop and communicate company initiatives to monitor production and to support process
• Understand and utilizes costing and CMT breakdowns
• Recommends methods to improve the garment/product construction and quality
• Develops best sourcing strategy and packages for assigned programs with awareness of landing costs of a wide range of countries. Regularly evaluates vendor, country base, placement and capacity by factory
• Works with team & merchants to confirm final prices, and placement details to warrant program confirmation
• In partnership, negotiates and confirms programs within the agreed upon Time & Action
• Manages entire production process including delivery, construction, quality, and production flow. Monitors WIP report from Vendors to ensure on time delivery for all programs
• Awareness of all testing global protocols and trading standards including SCOO and care and content labelling. Consistently works with team to ensure compliance
• Ability to prioritize workload
• Collaborates with management to assess, evaluate and select best sources for product or category of product for Vendors/Factories/Countries who are capable of producing the desired quality within the contracted delivery date. Ensures all production problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner and assists in confirming factories are socially compliant
• Once orders are placed, ensure order standards are met and handle difficult situations with manufactures. Spot check vendor warehouses when a quality or production concerns arises. Visit factories to create opportunities and resolve problems.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Broad based knowledge of childrenswear product development including, product specification, garment construction, fabric/yarn construction, sizing etc
• Knowledge of manufacturing and factory processes
• Strong knowledge of international logistics
• Knowledge of sourcing countries and capabilities
• Strong knowledge of global landscape, sourcing trends, placement, currencies, yarn prices
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Understanding of testing requirements by country for assigned programs
• Requires extensive domestic and international travel knowledge and experience
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proven track record delivering results
