Senior Outdoor Learning Development Officer - Sheffield

18.75 hours per week At Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust Salary: £25,109.26 p.a (pro rata)

Duration:2 years, fixed term contract subject to funding

Location:Victoria Hall, 37 Stafford Road, Sheffield S2 2SF with regular travelling across Sheffield and Rotherham

Interviews due to take place on: Monday 19th January 2015 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new development post which will deliver step-change in Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust's outdoor learning service. We are looking for a forward thinking dynamic person who is experienced in business development, marketing, and customer research and developing and piloting new products. They must have good networking skills and be able to work within a team as well as with external partners. The postholder will work with the Community Engagement and Learning Manager to:

Develop the quality and quantity of the Trust's outdoor learning activity in Sheffield and Rotherham - to reconnect more children, young people and families with nature.
Establish a financially sustainable outdoor learning service
Develop best practice, learning and expertise which can be shared throughout the wider Wildlife Trust network.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience working in the education/learning sector with a proven track record in budget development and business plan development and delivery. They must also be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field. Please note that this is not an education delivery post but knowledge and experience of the sector would be a distinct advantage.

Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust has been delivering Outdoor Learning, Environmental Education, Youth Participation and Community Engagement/family learning for over 15 years. This post will enable us to review our current service, develop its long-term financial sustainability and bring it in line with recent changes in education policy, customer demand and local strategies and priorities. The post will sit within the Outdoor Learning Service, as part of the Community Engagement & Learning Team.
