Senior Manager - Private EquityReference TX02970Location LondonService TaxSpecialism TaxIndustry LRTWho we are looking forWe are looking for Senior Managers to join the Corporate Tax, Private Equity backed company team in London Region Tax based in Embankment Place.
Your clients are likely to include large and medium sized Private Equity backed client. Clients of the team include well-known names such as Birdseye, Wagamama, Gaucho and Agent Provocateur. We advise clients between transactions and work closely with our Deal Teams on transactions. This means work is varied and exciting as our clients tend to transact (refinance, bolt on, exit) every few years. Our client work is mainly advisory and includes a significant number of non-audit clients.
We are looking for people with strong skills in relationship management, corporate tax and either international tax or Private Equity transaction experience.
You will be encouraged to shape and actively manage your career development through involvement in a broad variety of work.
To date, our marketing strategies have been extremely effective in expanding the client base with current growth in excess of 20%. We now need further specific resources to continue an impressive growth story.
Key skills
• Significant international structuring experience, or worked on a significant number of PE backed businesses or M&A; transactions previously.
• Desire to work with the partners and directors in winning new clients
• Ability to support the development of our junior staff
• Focus on client service and delivery is important given the PE environment.
About the roleThe PE backed company team is focused on bringing commercial tax ideas and services to existing and potential clients to increase their profitability and cash, hence maximising exit value. We provide mainstream tax advice and support our clients through transactions.
We take advantage of the diverse backgrounds of our staff and our networks to provide a unique one stop service for our clients.
As a Senior Manager in this team you will be involved in:
• Taking a lead role in managing the client relationship of our largest PE backed clients - managing and controlling deliverables and deadlines, handling day to day queries and establishing role as the trusted/primary point of contact
• Complex tax planning projects often working alongside PwC corporate finance, transaction services, capital markets or M&A; tax (on refinancing, restructurings and various exits, including currently a number of IPOs) and ad-hoc advisory work often with international aspects
• Driving team growth through involvement in business development, new relationships building and proposals
• Keeping the Private Equity backed company team up to date on international or PE matters, identifying opportunities in these areas, winning and helping others win work
• The support and development of junior staff - increasing team knowledge in your specialist area.
Essential skills:
• You should be ACA or CTA qualified or equivalent
• You will have strong UK tax knowledge or equivalent knowledge gained overseas
• Experience of managing a portfolio of clients and leading client relationships.
Desirable skills:
• Experiences in international tax, management shareholder issues or a familiarity with transaction processes.
• Interested in being an all-round business adviser who enjoys working closely with clients to provide them with a pro-active service giving them innovative and commercial tax solutions.
