Position Description:
TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel site. Our global travellers must have an excellent
local experience and this leadership role will be instrumental in defining and
implementing the localization roadmap to provide that experience to the nearly
260 million unique visitors who come to our site each month.
Reporting to the Director of Localization, you will be part
of the Core Product team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that
TripAdvisor localised products and brands deliver an excellent local experience
in all markets by leading the delivery of localization for several key internal
teams, as well as developing the best possible localization tools, technologies
and platforms, ultimately contributing to building a world-class scalable
localization solution. You will be part
of a team sim-shipping localized products and marketing material in 30+
This role will involve working cross-functionally to
develop, implement and manage localization programs and strategies based on the
best technology and providers.
• Lead the
delivery of the very best localized desktop and mobile products for several
TripAdvisor lines of business with the goal of creating an excellent user
experience for our global travellers
• Lead
cross-functional teams to define localization technology specifications,
establish milestones, and manage the development, implementation and evolution
of localization workflows
• Collaborate
with cross-functional teams to:
o define
localization requirements and establish milestones and goals
o manage
the delivery of localization against established goals
o Manage
relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and the wider
Localization, Product and other business teams
• Communicate
localization status, key issues and launch plans to stakeholders across the
TripAdvisor organization
• Be a
champion for localization:
o Establish
regular internationalization and localization training sessions
o Provide
recommendations for creating the very best user experience in all markets to
the Product, Marketing and Engineering teams
o Drive
internationalization and localization best practises
• Contribute
to team-wide initiatives to:
o Develop
scalable localization tools and processes in our high-volume environment
o Identify
technology, process and tool improvements and efficiency opportunities, and
drive implementation with the relevant teams
o Bring
awareness of localization best practices to the wider business
o Identify& implement initiatives to make TripAdvisor international sites feel native
• Research,
troubleshoot, diagnose and recommend solutions to increasingly complex business
or technical problems

• Extensive
localization experience in the online space, including desktop, mobile, tablet,
consumer and business products
• Substantial
experience with sophisticated globalization architectures
• Ability
to communicate vision and work with cross-functional teams to deliver on new
• Excellent
understanding of the language translation process
• Demonstrated
experience in successfully leading and delivering complex localization projects
for multiple teams
• Ability
to work with cross functional teams and manage conflict
• Excellent
organisational and communication, written and verbal, skills, at all levels of
an organization
• Proven
ability to deliver in a fast-paced technology environment
• A desire
to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with varied
• Quality-focused
with high attention to detail
• Comfortable
with presenting
• Fluency
in multiple non-English languages is a strong advantage

is based in our London, UK office. Travel to our international offices should be expected, including US
headquarters in Boston, as well as other offices such as Oxford, UK and Paris,
