Senior Controller

Our partner is a market leader FMCG company located in the district. To the Finance Department we are currently recruiting a Senior Controller.


  • Manage the financial planning processes, both long-term and short-term
  • Present results and performance drivers to management in a way which facilitates decision making about future performance delivery
  • Provided critical feedback to the business on the outputs and interpretations of the desired plans on business performance
  • Make recommendations to line management on the deployment of financial resources
  • Review short-term capital expenditure plans from business functions and approve/reject based on business needs or case to meet profitability or performance objectives
  • Ensure commitments for asset paybacks are met by the line managers
  • Establish and align a team of controllers with the line functions within the business and ensure that they provide valuable insight and challenges to the business in terms of value creation
  • Present the business performance to management on a timely and clear basis, relating actions and outcomes, in order to facilitate near real time adjustment of operational decisions
  • Evaluate and provide critical analysis of new projects/ initiatives
  • Ensure that adequate commercial evaluation and practices exist in line functions which ensures appropriate resource deployment
  • Approval of commercial contracts based on the current Authority Policy
  • Continuously develop the competencies of the colleagues and improve the financial capabilities in order to provide high quality service to the organization
  • Pursue financial best practices, by consistently reviewing gaps and agreeing a road map to achieve improvements
  • Provide expert advise on design and implementation of revised business processes which reduce admin and provided efficient manpower utilisation, customer support
  • Lead / support strategic projects on request
  • Improve financial acumen within the commercial organization


  • Economics or financial degree (BBA and/or Masters)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in commercial finance
  • Experience within multinational / FMCG organization(s)
  • Experience with statutory accounting and tax at a moderate level required
  • Proficiency in English
  • Intermediate to advanced user level for all office applications
  • SAP knowledge very important
  • Database management experience
  • Good analytical ability
  • Proven ability to manage people
