Within the Risk Management Framework and Infrastructure (RMFI) sub-competency, we continue to develop a market proposition and skills in the Risk Reporting, Data and Technology area and require a proposition leader at a Director level to help us grow this to the next level in the Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets industry sector.

Our Financial Services Risk and Regulation (FSRR) team is made up of 50 partners and 800 professional staff and our number and capabilities are expanding every day.
The Risk Competency in Consulting advises leading financial services organisations on a wide variety of risk and capital management issues. These range from regulatory requirements such as Basel III, to strategic risk propositions such as defining and setting risk appetite, enhancing risk measurement and capital management, embedding risk management through the organisation and optimising risk processes.
The person we are looking for will be a self-starter and have the following attributes:
• Well developed risk technology architecture skills, being able to translate business requirements through to application strategy and change programmes • A strong understanding of the role of risk technology in helping an organisation achieves its business and risk management goals • Significant experience of designing and leading risk technology delivery projects • Recent and relevant knowledge of leading risk technology solution vendors and products • Understanding of the business and technology implications of the latest sector specific regulatory requirements e.g. CRD 4 / Basel III - counterparty credit risk, stress testing, economic capital, internal and external risk reporting • Superior communication and presentation skills • Structured and methodological approach • Good interpersonal skills to support working with colleagues and clients. • Proven commercial awareness and understanding of the consulting sales cycle to identify and lead consulting sales opportunities • The ability and desire to coach and support team members.
This person will also be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks and projects and have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm. They should be of an inquisitive mindset and interested in constantly updating and developing their professional and technical skills.
About the role
This role will report primarily to the Industry Sector Lead for Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets and secondarily to the Risk Competency Leader.
This role will have the following responsibilities:
• Support the client account partners identify and win business and personally contribute to a minimum of £1.5m sales per annum • Develop and sustain senior risk IT and business relationships with our priority Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets clients • Lead the development of the risk technology proposition including thought leadership and sales collateral focused on risk reporting, risk data and risk technology/infrastructure • Lead the development of the RMFI sub-competency, working with other RMFI Partners and Directors, including the recruitment, training and development of Risk technologists • Lead project teams tasked with ensuring the successful delivery of risk technology engagements • Provide coaching and support for senior consultant grades within the team.

The following skills are required for this role:
Essential skills:
• University educated with relevant post-graduate or professional qualification • TOGAF or other relevant architecture and systems planning certification • PRINCE, PMI or other relevant project and programme management certification • Significant experience in Financial Services, with the majority of time spent in the Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets sector • Previous experience of management and systems consulting as a practitioner • A demonstrable track record in success in risk technology, with practical experience in a minimum of three or more of the following:
• Architecture - definition of logical, information, and technical architectures to support credit, market, or liquidity risk management; • Project management - end to end project management of IT focused projects in financial services; • Business analysis - analysis and documentation of business requirements for IT focused credit, market, or liquidity risk projects • Data modelling - development of logical, conceptual, and physical data models, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams in financial markets, particularly related to credit, market, or liquidity risk.
