PwC's Resource Management (RM) team has been brought together across our whole firm to enable our business to be even more agile in the ever evolving markets we work with, providing the right people on the right projects at the right time, across all of our services. We are looking to recruit a Resourcing Manager in our Deals team in London, to support the Transaction Services practice. Transaction Services is a large complex business unit, fast paced, high energy with high volumes of resourcing requests, which require a fast turnaround on a daily basis. The business unit has 650+ client facing staff based across various offices in the UK.
As a Resource Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of RM Services, helping to provide operational excellence. You'll work with the business and RM function to support the firm's strategy around agility and mobility of our people and will support the firm's people agenda, reporting directly to the Senior Resource Manager and supporting the resourcing team and the key stakeholders.
You'll be responsible for the staffing of Associates to Directors, both in London and the regions on a daily basis. You will also have the opportunity to support the RM strategy across the TS Global Network. You will also have a role in talent management and liaising with the People Partner & Operations Partners to discuss individual performance and development. This role is a people focused role founded on effective working relationships with all key stakeholders within the RM community and the Business Unit.
The role is to begin as soon as possible and early applications are encouraged.
About the role
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the business and be proactive in relation to the supply and demand challenges of the business - i.e. busy periods, recurring business, etc • Produce accurate and commercially focussed Management Information (MI) for your Business Unit (BU) / RM function, identifying trends / key risks / etc • Support the business by delivering the manpower and resourcing plan, having a deep understanding of the BU growth plans and headcount required to support these • Engage with the BU Group Leaders and support with people issues and recruitment • Be prepared to challenge the BU protocols if impacting resourcing - i.e. completion of timesheets, accuracy of codes, etc • Proactively advise and guide People Managers as regards to their role and responsibilities in RM processes to enable a good quality interaction with their staff • Make sure the business needs are delivered in an efficient manner at all times by optimising the allocation of work and deployment of staff to maximise profitability in conjunction with personal development plans and individuals’ wellbeing • Manage the BU to make sure clients' needs are delivered in an efficient manner at all times by optimising headcount, managing/overseeing joiners, leavers and secondments, increasing utilisation and being aware of the impact on employee engagement • Support the RM Team Leader with recruitment interviews and inducting new staff • Work in close partnership with other key functions - i.e. Finance / HC / Business Development / etc • Engage and promote the use of key resourcing systems including Profile, Finder, Retain and Career Opportunities to enable effective resourcing • Be prepared to engage in RM projects aligned to the resourcing vision • Share knowledge / best practice and network with your Line of Service colleagues and your colleagues across the RM function • Demonstrate knowledge of the firm’s risk management policies and procedures
• Prior experience in a resource management, manpower/workforce planning or similar role - ideally within a large professional or corporate environment • Ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast moving environment • Excellent project management and organisational skills • Experience of conflict resolution, with the ability to manage complex conflicts between numerous parties • Commercial and risk focussed with good operational business acumen • Strong ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships at all levels • Good problem solver and decision maker • Effective team player with an ability to develop personal networks through strong interpersonal skills • Trusted advisor who provides balanced, pragmatic advice around manpower planning and resource management to the business • Experience of managing staff • Proactive with a positive, flexible, assertive attitude • Excellent IT skills - particularly in Excel • Knowledge / experience of using workforce planning systems such as Retain would be an advantage
