A small but expanding Food Manufacturer who supply High Risk and Low Risk foods to both major UK Retailers and Foodservice customers have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to take responsibility for the Technical function.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
This is a rewarding role as it offers the Quality Manager an opportunity to get involved in a broad range of duties, such as liaising with key customers, resolving issues and trouble-shooting, implementing quality tools and developing your team of Quality Technicians and ensuring Operators are fully trained in Quality procedures. The jobholder will lead the Quality / Technical department to achieve high levels of compliance, ensuring finished products meet customer specification and quality standards.
Duties will also include leading a HACCP team, conducting internal and BRC audits, reviewing and maintaining Quality Management Systems, and supporting the Hygiene function including Hygiene Audits, and promoting Health & Safety awareness. The Quality Manager will have a remit to drive improvements in working practices and raise the profile of the technical department.
The Quality Manager will schedule technical reviews and ensure all site and product developments comply to requirements. They will write Specifications for new products and update existing specifications. There will be a requirement to continually develop robust Food Safety & Quality Systems ensuring BRC Grade A certification and customer approvals are maintained.
This role offers a great opportunity for those looking to 'step up' into a Quality Managers role within a small but expanding business, but equally, we welcome applications from experienced Quality Mangers looking for a new challenge. It is essential that all applicants have at least 18 months experience within the Technical function of a Food Manufacturing environment and are used to managing a broad range of Technical duties.
Ideally, we are seeking evidence of previous Quality / Technical Supervisory experience. A Food Science HNC/HND or Degree in a Food related subject would assist your application. It would also be advantageous to have some experience with High Risk foods. An in depth knowledge of BRC and HACCP, trained in HACCP minimum Level 3 and UK Driving License is also expected. Ref 1443
