Job descriptionWork with the Head of Purchasing to develop and drive the long term commercial strategy(s) of specific commodities enabling a step change in savings and supplier performance. Focus on maintaining a best practice environment with innovative, robust and sustainable sourcing strategies and processes. Responsible for the management of a team of Commodity Buyers across Production categories.
Additional descriptionDeputise for the Head of Purchasing
Manage strategic negotiations and where appropriate negotiate directly with major suppliers, Support Commodity Buyers as required in key negotiations
•Implement purchasing objectives and target cost reductions, whilst maintaining high standards of procurement ethics.
Create and agree negotiation strategies with Commodity buyers to allow empowerment during key negotiations
Implement supplier relationship management across the suppliers, ranging in size, complexity and location
•Build and maintain effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, board and group members
•Work collaboratively at both Aircelle and SAFRAN Group levels to define and implement multi-site strategies
•Collaborate with the other External Supply Chain departments and define way forward and action plans to achieve the business objectives and create a world class supply chain function.
•Manage the Purchasing budgeting process and be responsible for achieving the agreed targets
•Develop, motivate and performance manage the Purchasing team on a day to day basis in the achievement of agreed personal development plans and business objectives
•Review Buyers' performance via regular one to ones and the appraisal system, identifying and recognising both underperformance and achievement.
•Promote talent and foster team work. People development and mentoring of your team will be key to this role.

Candidate skills & requirementsDegree / HND or equivalent experience
Team player, ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality
CIPS qualified or willingness to study
Accuracy in administration skills
Good communication skills - verbal and written
Ability to follow up and take action where necessary. Influencing skills
Excellent project management skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and motivated for progressing quickly
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience of dealing with a wide range of international suppliers
Educational background and experience from the field of engineering, logistics, manufacturing preferred
Working knowledge of the French Language
Purchasing experience as part of a team
Development and mentoring skills and experience
