Over the past year, Save the Children's Global Programmes department has achieved unprecedented growth and we have set ourselves even more ambitious targets for the next few years. To meet these targets, it is crucial that we grow the skills and expertise of the Proposal Development Team.
About the Role: Our team is part of the Programme Partnerships department, in the Global Programmes division. Over the past year, the department has achieved unprecedented growth and we have set ourselves even more ambitious growth targets for the next few years to increase our impact for children. Your role will be to project manage the design and development of high quality concept notes and proposals to secure dramatic income growth from corporate, institutional, major donors and trusts and foundations. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced proposal writer who will bring with them a passion to work for Save the Children and a commitment to the development of high quality, well designed concepts and proposals, whilst building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You would be part of an 11 person team which includes Head of Proposal Development, Proposal Writer Manager, four Proposal Writers, three Corporate Grant Managers, a Signature Programmes Funding Officer and a Match Funding Officer. About You:
You will have a proven track record within the international development sector in:
• Writing successful high value fundraising proposals, securing significant donations (from Corporates, Trust and Foundations and/ or Major Donors), with some institutional proposal writing experience
• Outstanding project management and coordination skills to manage and prioritise a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High levels of numeracy and previous budget preparation experience
• Strong inter-personal and relationship building skills.
What we offer:
In return we offer a negotiable salary of £28,000 - £34,000 + Benefits + pension, structured career development, travel and the opportunity to join a team at the leading edge of proposal development.
