The Directorate of Corporate Resources has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and/or experienced person to join the Assets Management Team to provide a comprehensive maintenance service, including building services, property management, resource planning, energy management and caretaking and cleaning for the Council's property assets. This will include providing professional advice and guidance on the maintenance of the Council's properties, recommending actions for change to the properties to ensure available property resources are used effectively and efficiently to deliver services and corporate objectives
• Supporting the Asset Manager to ensure service organisation planning, monitoring and review is consistent with corporate framework and drives improvements in the quality, efficiency, and service standards.
• Responsibility for, and develop delivery plans for, a suite of performance indicators for your service area to ensure that they achieve the performance standards set out in community, corporate and service delivery plans.
• Ensuring the service's budget planning, expenditure and monitoring is in accordance with the Council's standards and that financial resources are used to achieve and maximise high-quality, effective and efficient services and provide value for money and continuous improvement.
You must have substantial experience in managing a building/facilities management service, experience of strategic planning and strategy implementation and have a detailed knowledge of relevant legislation relating to this field of work.
You will work under the supervision of the Asset Manager and will work closely with other directorates, service managers, service users and strategic partners.
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic person, who holds a certificate in management or equivalent. You will have good written and oral communication skills and have the ability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally with others in order to achieve service delivery targets.
