PwC UKIT outsources much of their IT project work to Project Service Providers. These suppliers work to an Operating Model defined by PwC. Low complexity projects area overseen by accountable PwC Portfolio Managers but complex projects which are high risk to the Firm are managed by PwC Project Managers.
The role calls for the standard Project Management skill set but with particular ability around Senior Stakeholder Management, Risk Management and the effective management of multiple project service providers and third party vendors.

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering the project from commitment to closure. On occasion there will be a required to be involved in the Inception/Qualification in stage to support vendor selection, planning and estimating.
About the role
Key Responsibilities

• Stakeholder Management and Reporting. Responsible for setting up and running Project Boards and reporting progress to the Business and Product Services
• Project Kick Off Meetings. Responsible for identifying all project stakeholders and arranging a kick off meeting to ensure the project approach, objectives and responsibilities have been effectively communicated and accepted and that risk have been identified and owners allocated.
• Planning. For multi-vendor projects the PM develops an integrated project plan structure based on the vendor's project deliverables and PwC tasks. Performs project plan maintenance to incorporate updates and changes to the master project plan
• Deliverables. This role is accountable for all the SoW deliverables of the project from the vendor as well as PwC tasks on the project. • Financials. The PM will report on project costs and forecasts on a regularly scheduled basis, normally monthly.
• Risk Management. The PM is responsible for Risk Management across the project and will create and maintain the master Risk Register. • PPM. Carrying out all the activities and tasks required to progress projects though PPM as defined in the RACI for the Portfolio Manager role.
• Project Procurement. Responsible for procuring any hardware / software / licences / services required to execute the project.
• UAT. Responsible for coordinating UAT, prioritising fault fixing and achieving sign off.
• Project Change Request Management. Responsible for critically reviewing and presenting PCRs to the Portfolio Lead for approval.
• Coordination of PwC Resources. The PM is responsible for coordinating all UKIT contribution to the project e.g. HLD sign offs, Test Plan sign offs, Application Management input. Also for Business Contribution to the Project. e.g. providing resources for testing (UAT), training, communications, change management. • Primary Project Point of Contact. Being the primary point of contact with the Business the Product Services for all project related matters for the projects which you are accountable for. • Collaboration. This role works in a collaborative manner with all team and vendor resources of a project throughout the Project Lifecycle. • Influence. The Project Manager influences others within the whole project team using their technical expertise to identify and address project issues. • Project Comms. Develops and distributes internal project communications, and participates in the development and review of firm-wide project communications • Continuous Process Improvement. As part of the wider UKIT team, works with leaders/owners of the process or service to understand current practices and identify areas for improvement

• Experience of successfully managing a range of IT projects from requirement definition through to project closure. •
Experience of negotiating with and managing third parties • Experience of dealing with senior client and stakeholders within the business.
