As an Associate in the
Private Client Compliance Centre based in the Edinburgh office of
PricewaterhouseCoopers, the successful candidate will be responsible for
dealing with a large portfolio of clients, they will be trained and assisted to
take a range of responsibilities for the personal tax compliance affairs of
those clients.
About the roleWe are one of the main personal tax compliance centres in the UK and focus on delivering complex, technically accurate tax returns and related compliance services in high volumes to internal and external clients in a timely manner, including:
• The preparation and submission of Self Assessment Tax Returns each year (individuals, trusts and partnerships) • The preparation and submission of clients' repayment claims • Calculating and verifying tax liabilities • Dealing with general compliance matters arising during the compliance cycle • Verbal and written communication with clients, the team and with other PwC internal stakeholders • Adherence to all internal and external risk management policies and procedures
The position arises due to the firm successfully winning new clients, which has led to opportunities within our team.
Candidates will be
capable of preparing tax returns with a right first time attitude without the
need for supervision.
Candidates will be able
to demonstrate a knowledge and commitment to the tax profession and personal
tax compliance in particular. Opportunities
for personal tax advisory experience in this role are expected to be limited.
Professional training
will be provided but candidates may already be studying towards or have passed
their ATT examinations.
An ability to learn from
experience and strong interpersonal skills are essential and a
successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate good communication and
time management skills, with flexibility to meets the demands of the role.
The work is managed via a number of
sophisticated electronic systems and the successful candidate should be
comfortable with the use of computer systems and IT. Full training will be provided but experience
of Word and Excel is essential and any previous experience of other systems
used would be an advantage.
