The Role:
•Creates and maintains Programme and Project Plans for Project Stages following guidance from the Programme or Project Manager. These plans are used by the Programme or Project Manager to guide delivery of the Programme or Project/Stage objectives and provide a basis for status reporting.
•Checks that Programme or Project costs are correctly recorded, are at the agreed level, and are for goods/services that have been received.
•Validates Programme or Project Resource Requests and conveys them to the appropriate resource providers. Tracks their progress and escalates with the Programme or Project Manager when resource fulfilment does not take place on agreed terms
•Mobilises facilities, technology and services for other team members in order that they become productive promptly on assignment. De-mobilises team members when their assignment ends.
•Checks that orders for goods and services raised comply with internal process and guidance. The resulting Purchase and Work Orders are used to procure goods and services from 3rd Parties as determined by the Programme or Project Plan.
•Assures that Gate submission 'packs' are compliant with EEPW/Prince2, and are submitted in accordance with correct local procedure and timetables.
•Forecasts costs of Programme or Project Stages at their planned end, and/or the milestones in the company financial control calendar. Reports on these forecasts, both in predetermined formats and/or ad-hoc as determined by the Programme or Project Manager. These forecasts are required by the EDF Energy Financial Control cycle.
•Updates the RAID Log to keep it in a state of currency and tracks the ongoing status of risks, escalating as required, under the guidance of the Programme or Project Manager. The RAID Log is used to provide a comprehensive and current record of the project risks.
•Tracks the delivery of Programme or Project benefits where these have been declared before its completion to allow the validation of the Programme or Project's business case.

The Person:
•Numerate and literate to GCSE standard (ie GCSE passes in Maths and English).
•Experience of working in a project environment using Prince2 or equivalent methodology, and preferably with current Practitioner accreditation.
•An understanding of the rationale for evaluating proposed investments. An understanding of how benefits can sometimes be quantified, and the importance of this. An understanding of the time value of money (ie for NPV).
•Experience of working within a medium to large organisation and an understanding of internal process and sign-off, and 3rd party relationships
•Experience in extracting and reformatting digital information from a wide range of information systems including as a minimum the Microsoft Office suite.
•Experience of interfacing with 3rd party consultants, suppliers and service providers and acting on that company's behalf in correspondence regarding services purchased, provided, invoiced and settled.
•Experience of recording and maintaining logical dependencies between tasks and activities
•Experience of applying baselines; an understanding of why change control is necessary and how to implement it. The ability to demonstrate how change control can apply to the time, cost, scope and quality dimensions of a Programme or Project.
•Experience of working within financial control and reporting cycles
