Packaging Engineer - Manchester, City, M16 0PU

You will report to the R&T Director for Packaging Technology as part of dynamic and friendly team of packaging engineers who are part of a world class Research and Technology team. The team believes packaging is central to the success of the company and we are inviting you to come innovate with us.

In your role as a packaging engineer you will work as part of a team in a collaborative culture, focused on strengthening our future by:
Supporting and leading projects that help deliver against our innovation pipeline
Adding to your own skills and knowledge by close interaction within the team, R&T and the wider business
Strengthen our core skills by helping to improve the way we innovate and develop packaging
Strengthen our core skills by becoming a subject matter expert on key packaging formats and packaging solutions
Working as a functional expert in cross functional teams to deliver our goals
Developing and maintaining specifications for packaging that you have developed and take a part in developing our future potential

We want self-motivated people who are passionate about packaging, who can work with a minimum of supervision from a wide brief and who have the humility and hunger to learn from some of the best in the business. You will need to turn ideas in to commercially successful solutions within demanding timelines.
When it comes to packaging our future you must have the following:
A qualification in packaging (or equivalent), or a HND/HNC in engineering with packing line experience, or a Science related degree with FMCG experience
The ability to work across Microsoft Office Suite range of products with ease.
Understanding of print and reprographics
Experience in taking multiple projects from ideation to market as the lead packaging team member
If you believe you have that package taken care of then you can also show that you have the following:
A proven track record of results in an FMCG packaging role
A good breadth of understanding about the issues and opportunities facing packaging today
Use of artwork approval tools such as Esko systems Webcentre

This role requires a large amount of travel throughout Europe, so you don't just need to be flexible in terms of location you also need to be able to adapt your style and approach to work with colleagues in many different countries and cultures
