Job Description Fronting Coeliac UK in Wales, this full-time role will provide vision and knowledge of the health and food sectors in Wales to maximise Coeliac UK's profile and meet the Charity's strategic aims. The role will involve engagement with key decision makers and policymakers in Wales: in the Senedd, the Welsh Government, and the health and food sectors. You will be involved in campaigning and helping us to attract funds. Engaging with the Charity's volunteer base in Wales will be key.
Key responsibilities
• Engagement with the health and food sectors in Wales assessing key areas of activity and influence to progress the Charity's strategic aims.
• Working with volunteers to influence the Senedd in line with Charity's agenda.
• Working as part of the Evidence and Policy team in the planning and co-ordination of campaign activities in Wales.
• Representing Coeliac UK in Wales with press and media, Assembly Members and other key stakeholders.
• Developing and co-ordinating the Charity's relationship with its Volunteers in Wales, acting as a point of contact, in conjunction with the Head of Volunteering.
• Represent the Charity at Group events, exhibitions, catering training courses and meetings as necessary.
• Maximise the fundraising potential of the Charity in Wales in conjunction with the fundraising team at Coeliac UK.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Essential
• Able to manage complex projects on time and to budget
• Able to work on own initiative in a lone office
• Able to scan health and food sectors and identify significant developments relevant to Coeliac UK
• Able to effectively manage Volunteer Groups and interested campaigners to maximise the Charity's visibility and messages
• Excellent written, communication and presentational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident proof reader
• Ability to prioritise
Desirable
• Understanding of corporate identity and the importance of consistent messages and brand delivery
• Able to write press releases, liaise with press and media and secure coverage
• Welsh speaker
EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Experience of Senedd processes
• Experience of campaigning on a local or national level
• Experience of managing a network of Volunteers
Desirable
• Experience of managing a budget
• Experience of press and media relations
• Experience of event management
• Experience of fundraising
Travel
Some travel and weekend work will be involved.
