Job descriptionFollowing the transfer of Indirect Purchasing (transactional) activities into the Safran UK Purchasing Hub and the initiation of the QED 2017 Project, the purpose of this Interim Role is to scope out and recommend the future requirements for this Purchasing Manager Role through:
• working with the Safran UK Purchasing Hub to develop and implement the optimum Indirect Purchasing interface, and
• liaison with the QED 2017 Transformation Team and the Operations Value Streams to determine the future state requirements for Direct purchasing activities at MS Ltd. (QED 2017 is a transformational project to enable sustainable growth during the next 3 years)
• Working with the Finance Department to introduce robust budgetary management processes and procedures.
For the period of the Interim appointment, the incumbent will also sustain purchasing activities at MSUK.
Additional description•In liaison with the Safran UK Purchasing Hub, develop and implement the optimum Indirect Purchasing interface.
•Maintain close liaison with The Safran UK Purchasing Hub to ensure optimum support is achieved for indirect purchasing activities that come under the control of the Hub. This includes the maintenance and oversight of the Hub Service Level Agreement and associated MOPs.
•Management of all indirect purchasing activities that remain under the control of MS Ltd.
•Review of indirect business spend with recommendations of where reductions can be made.
•Provision of indirect purchasing support to the QED 2017 project for all associated procurement requirements (infrastructure, plant and equipment).
•In liaison with the Finance Department, develop and introduce robust budgetary management processes and procedures.
•Through the activities detailed above, scope out and recommend the future requirements for this Purchasing Manager Role.

Candidate skills & requirements•Relevant experience in similar capacity preferably from aviation industry.
•Good knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements.
•Broad business acumen and commercial awareness.
•Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to think laterally under pressure
•Excellent leadership and management skills.
•CIPS qualified
•Working knowledge of ERP/MRP II & MS Office applications
•Understanding of contracts and contract language with the ability to act as a company spokesperson in negotiations with suppliers
•Outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and negotiation skills
