We are looking for a senior associate to take up a client facing
position in our International Assignment Services (IAS) team in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen.

skills you have already acquired in your time working in the HRS or tax
arena. You will benefit from exposure to a wide range of issues on a broad
portfolio of clients.
You will work as part of a team providing high
quality service to existing clients. You will also have a role to play in
helping the team to grow the Scottish IAS business by identifying opportunities
on new and existing clients and key targets.
You will work alongside HRS specialists in
International Mobility, Employment Tax, Reward, and Pensions. By joining
the IAS team you will broaden your knowledge not only of expatriate tax
but also of other areas of HRS.
You can be based in our Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Glasgow offices but may need to travel to other offices or to visit clients as required
About the role
The role will be
client facing from day one and you will be expected to establish strong
relationships with HR and finance contacts, as well as internationally mobile
employees, from a very early stage. You will also interact with HM
Revenue and Customs and with colleagues throughout the PwC network.
You need excellent
client handling and communication skills. Our clients expect a seamless
global service: most of our engagements are global engagements so you will be
working as part of a global team.
Your organisational
skills will help you to juggle diverse projects, on clients ranging from very
large (> 200 assignees) to very small (1 assignee).
You will have a part
to play in delivering the core compliance programme on your clients in an
efficient and timely way.
You will also have
the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge by advising clients and
assignees on a wide range of issues. No two days are ever the same: on one
day you might be responding to an employee’s query on capital gains tax in light of his relocation from the UK to
work overseas. On another day you might be explaining the payroll implications
of an overseas national moving to work in the UK on a two year secondment.
You will have
exposure to broader consulting opportunities, which might include reviewing a
client’s employment tax risk in relation
to their mobile employee population, or assisting a client to implement or update
their mobility policies to reflect market practice and their business needs.
