Job Purpose and Mission
Starbucks are looking for a talented HR Advisor to cover maternity leave for 9-12 months. This role contributes to business success by assisting the business in developing and delivering a wide spectrum of HR/ER practises, processes and administration.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Ensures HR related programmes and processes are implemented to support productivity, organisational growth and development of partners as part of the functional people planning process.
Implement strategic and operational plans, managing execution, and measuring results.
Provides guidance and advice to line managers to ensure effective management of HR practise across retail; monitors content and feeds back to senior managers as required.
Manages the reference process end to end including all SLA's within agreed timescales
Provides advice, education and coaching on all employee relations issues to ensure compliance with Starbucks values, guiding principles and legal requirements to both Support Centre and field management.
Manages, investigates and provides a consultative service on all disciplinary and grievance matters to all Support Centre management, RDOs, DMs, SMs and Talent & Business Partners
Participates in the delivery and design of HR policies and training as required, in order to support the development of management practises, skills and knowledge. Coaches managers to support them in dealing with all people related issues. Supports the HR team by providing regular HR/ER updates
Key point of contact in Support Centre and field for all, ER related activity, including Occupational Health referrals and performance issues.
Provides support and day to day management of employment tribunals, relating to paperwork, witness preparation and contact with solicitors and general preparation. Complex concerns to be passed to the senior manager.
Supports cultural, change management and engagement programmes that reinforce Starbucks mission, values and guiding principles (i.e. Partner Experience Survey, Partner Blend and other ad-hoc projects as required).

Decision Making Responsibility
The primary decision making responsibility sits within ER advice and decisions to line managers. However, any complex decisions or those that may impact the company's reputation may need to be referred to others beyond the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
Solid experience in a fast paced HR environment
Will have a proven track record of effective consultation with management
Proven confidence to challenge line managers on key HR business decisions and actions.
Ability to be pragmatic and provide appropriate solutions in difficult HR situations
Intermediate / advanced MS Office suite experience, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills including proven ability to prioritise work effectively
Robust approach to work requiring attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to use initiative
CIPD qualified or HR experience equivalent
Sound knowledge of employment law
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the work environment
Experience of using a database system to track information
Able to act in a composed, customer focused and professional approach at all times

Advantageous
HR related experience within a retail environment
Certification or qualification in employment law
Multi-site experience
