Healthwatch Borough Manager (fixed term contract) - London, Kensington And Chelsea, SW100

Job Description We currently have a vacancy for a Healthwatch Borough Manager

The main purpose of this post is to manage the operational development and delivery of Healthwatch including the local team in Fulham/Kensington.
To engage with key professionals and work at a strategic level to give local people more influence in how their health and social care services are designed and run.
To hold, and to help enable participants of Healthwatch to hold, local health and social care services accountable.
To support the effective implementation of local HealthWatch and to contribute to the development of the tri borough Healthwatch.
To coordinate and ensure projects maximise available resources.. If you have:
• Experience of working with or for communities, either in the voluntary or statutory sector, including experience of working with the community groups relevant to the post.
• Experience of working with 'hard-to-reach' groups of people who would not normally participate in engagement structures
• Excellent knowledge of health and social care systems including how to influence the commissioning cycle and scrutiny functions in this area
• Excellent knowledge and awareness of the cultural, social and health issues and inequalites relevant to diverse communities
• Experience of carrying out research, profile mapping, preparing action plans, writing reports and making recommendations for change
• Experience of managing a staff team and effective project management to deliver on agreed targets
• Experience in designing and delivering effective training and capacity building programmes both for internal and external audiences
• Experience of communicating complex ideas in a simple way to members of the public, ad hoc or in a strategic way using a variety of media as appropriate, alone or with partners
• Ability to engage and influence a range of people in different settings, including professionals from statutory and voluntary organisations, members of the public and funders
• Ability to provide guidance and support to community organisations and individuals
• Commitment to equal opportunities and to promoting rights, privacy, dignity and choice
• Ability to write evidence based reports and submissions to a high standard to influence decsion makers and effect change
