PwC is looking for an experienced, creative and established senior manager level candidate to lead the Market Campaigns team within its internal Client & Market Development (CMD) function. The Market Campaigns team is a large team of marketers aligned to all parts of PwC, covering our lines of service, industry sectors and regions across the UK.
Our vision is to create a best-in-class marketing team, so the role of the team leader is vital in building the skills and capability of the people within the team, whilst also being responsible for the attraction, recruitment and retention of key talent.
To be credible the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering high impact marketing campaigns that have delivered tangible results to the business. Given the fast pace of change, the candidate will also need to demonstrate the ability to be agile and innovative to remain at the cutting edge of marketing.
To lead a complex, diverse and geographically spread team, the candidate will need to be an excellent communicator, confident in their ability to lead teams and self-aware enough to build a strong leadership team to support them.
About the role
CMD is a centralised support function and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. The prime area of focus for the function is to support the development and implementation of the firm's market strategy and in particular to deliver:
• revenue growth
• enhanced relationships and networks, and
• a distinctive brand experience.
The PwC strategy is designed to provide a sharper focus on market issues in order to prioritise growth opportunities and align our resources to deliver them. Our plan is to obtain transformational growth of our consulting market share and to extend our lead in our core businesses of audit, tax, business recovery services and transactions.
This role will be responsible for the Market Campaigns team which forms part of the Client & Market Development group responsible for positioning PwC's services to best meet client needs. The jobholder will report to the CMD capability leader responsible for the firm's value propositions.
In the role, the Market Campaigns team leader will also be responsible for delivering successful campaigns aligned to a particular part of the business that support the growth strategy of the firm. And will report to the CMD strategy directors.
In this role, the successful candidate:
• Creates a culture where people can learn, develop and strive to reach their maximum potential.
• Provides expert advice on the most appropriate approach, content and channel mix and is accountable for ensuring that quality and brand standards are always upheld.
• Helps marketers continue to define and evolve the measurement and reporting of our marketing campaigns.
• Proactively seeks new channels to market and innovates to deliver content in different ways.
• Defines quality standards across the team.
• Ensures that market campaigns are continuously improved and experience, information and knowledge are shared including specifically in the digital and social media environment.
• Ensures that the team has in place appropriate tools, mechanisms and processes to be able to deliver the firm's market campaigns to agreed budgets.
• Establishes a best-in-class team and deals with poor performance as needed.
• Manages performance effectively and provides opportunities for individual growth and development in line with career aspirations.
• Ensures the alignment of individual objectives with business priorities and strategy.
• Graduate calibre with a proven track record in the provision of large scale B2B multi channel marketing programmes (ideally within a professional services environment).
• Experience of developing and implementing marketing and business development strategy matched to commercial objectives.
• An expert understanding of campaign management techniques, ideally with a professional marketing or business development qualification.
• Strong knowledge of new and traditional marketing channels including experience of digital marketing.
• The ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.
• Creative and innovative approach.
• Strong people management and development skills with experience of managing teams.
• Proactive with a positive 'can do' approach.
• Self starter able to work effectively as part of a 'virtual team'.
• A sound business understanding as well as being commercially and risk aware.
