Global Information (GI) is responsible for the global financial reporting of the PwC Network of Firms. It comprises Client Information, Firm Information, Tax and Treasury services across a variety of information related Network initiatives. This role sits within the Client Information (CI) area.
The PwC Network operates in over 150 countries and generates US$ 30+bn of client revenues per annum from thousands of client groups. The Cl team defines, gathers, and reports PwC client revenue and financial information, adopting a proactive consulting approach with a variety of Network leaders including, Client Relationship Partners, Industry Leaders, Line of Service leaders, Business Development, Risk Management, Independence, Strategy, Legal to understand and address their information needs.
The CI systems, such as the Global Data Warehouse (GDW) and Global Client Portal (GCP) play a critical role in supporting the PwC business leaders across the Global Network to define and manage their markets and service offerings, and to execute and measure the success of their strategic initiatives.
We are looking for an Executive to run and oversee the daily operational activities of the GDW / GCP ensuring that the system is updated with reliable data and is available to users to timetable. The individual should have experience of working in an operations environment, of using complex financial systems, have good IT awareness and in particular a good eye for detail. The ability to work to tight deadlines, and to be a good communicator is also vital.
About the roleOperations / monthly operations activities:
• Oversee and guide the team through monthly operational activities for GDW and GCP. Ensure the system availability, data integrity and that tasks are completed and signed off in accordance with the operational timetable and Service Level Agreements. • Build and maintain a detailed understanding of the GDW and GCP, including attributes, metrics and reporting capabilities, access management, and information security requirements. • Maintain well defined documentation of the complex systems, processes and procedures. • Support users in the use of the GDW and GCP, overseeing the team with informal and formal training as necessary.
• Build and maintain close working relationships with PwC-IT so as to gain understanding of how the system backend functions to facilitate system enhancements and troubleshooting and to remain fully appraised of on flight systems developments • Continue to improve the integrity of country data feeds with targeted reporting taking into account master data management principles. Coordinate the annual coding update process with global territories. • Gain understanding of, maintain, and adhere to, ISO 27001 controls and procedures that support the • Client Information Security Management System (ISMS). • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of key metrics, calculations and treatment of the various transaction types in the diverse client systems. Work with territory IT as necessary to ensure that the financial systems are capable of collecting and reporting revenue and margin information.
Reporting and Analysis
• Provide an ad-hoc reporting service (pro-actively or reactively as required), including defining requirements and interpretation of outputs, to the Global stakeholders to support and enable business operational and strategic decisions within agreed timelines. • Assesses the most efficient way to build a report, with the ability to propose alternative approaches to stakeholders so that the department is not burdened with inefficient reporting processes. • Design and present reports, including clear commentary and explanation of any data / financial issues • Review and monitor ad hoc reporting completed by team, providing guidance on approach and best practice.

Master Data Management / Source
• Develop understanding of the Master Data Management (MDM) system SOURCE, the related systems (e.g. Central Entity Service, Dun & Bradstreet) and the relationship with GDW and GCP. Use this to inform reporting solutions. • Understand how data quality works across all systems (SOURCE, GDW, GCP) and how to investigate and resolve customer queries or anomalies. Develop procedures as necessary. • Guide team members through data quality requests, advising on process and best practice.
Systems Development and Implementation
• Support line manager to identify system solutions / enhancements that are effective and fit for purpose, meeting the appropriate business needs. • Run enhancement projects independently, managing timeline, resources and workload, whilst considering risks and impact on other areas. • Work closely PwC-IT (US and India), ensuring any solutions continue to enable the collection and timely release of data to users.
Customer Management
• Take a proactive and consultative approach with GDW and GCP users to understand and deliver on their information needs and improve services they receive. • Identify and influence the choice of solutions ensuring deliverables are practical and commercially viable and meet or exceed customer expectations. • Ability to include the relevant constituents as appropriate when solving problems to reach the right decision (e.g. IT, Finance, business leads), using good influencing skills
RequirementsThe following skills are required for this role:
Essential skills:
• Demonstrated experience of running management information systems. • Well organised, disciplined with an eye for detail. Ability to ensure that all tasks are completed to deadline is vital. • Strong data analysis skills, the ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets and to draw insights to support operations and reporting activities. Detailed knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, and of data warehousing principles. • Able to co-ordinate operational activities within the London based team and our virtual IT team (based in Tampa, Boston, Bangalore) taking a proactive approach to managing both business and IT issues. • Ability to multi-task across several different projects and initiatives at any one time. Able to work flexibly and re-prioritise as the need arises. • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and to see these through to timely completion. • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Able to network and interact at all levels. • Strong collaborative working skills - able to work as part of a busy team serving a diverse range of customers. • A self-starter with a high level of commitment and enthusiasm
Desirable skills:
• Previous experience in a management reporting role would be an asset • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and knowledge of the Microstrategy suite of reporting tools
