Job Title: Global Consumer Insight Manager - Fabric Conditioner
Salary: Circa £31,000 plus London Allowance at £1750 per annum.

• At this work level CMI roles are about gaining breadth of experience, both within CMI and of the wider business. This role is an early step on a journey to understanding how the business works and developing business acumen. You will actively use the knowledge you gain to provide added value insights to the business.
• The CMI function's mission is to show the business how and where to win. In this role you will contribute to delivering our mission by supporting a CMI manager in business partnering a marketing team. You will be expected to run all or part of some projects on your own after 6 months in the job.
• The Global Fabric Conditioner category vision is to provide tangible enhancement to the smell, look and feel of clothes. Within this, the key Global brands, Comfort & Snuggle, understand how to look after your family and their clothes, enriching their lives and making them feel good.

• Distil information from primary and secondary research (e.g. market information, ad hoc research) and provide useful insights
• Build own understanding of categories, brands and customers
• Support the Global CMI Manager in the design and delivery of market research projects:
- Determine optimal research plan and method (in line with Unilever best practice)
- Conduct and co-ordinate the project with the research supplier
- Manage project within agreed budgets
- Interpret and communicate key findings and recommendations
• Develop own research skills, making full use of: CMI Portal, CMI tools and templates, training opportunities, and coaching/mentoring from line manager
• Build own understanding of key business processes e.g. category/brand strategy, Integrated Brand Planning (IBP), Innovation and Renovation (IPM), Communication (IBC)
• Manage relevant IT tools as required (including Consumer World)

• Proactively identify tactical opportunities for the business, and support your CMI manager in identifying strategic opportunities for the business.
• Develop your appreciation of brand building and/or brand development, in order to understand advertising, brand positioning, and shopper behavior.
• Be independent and deliver fact based, objective views of the business. You will provide credible recommendations to marketing business partners, based on a one consumer approach.
• Operate in a professional manner, applying CMI tools and techniques with rigour and discipline.
• Use your innate ability and passion to understand and empathise with consumers and customers to deliver valuable insights to the business.


• Excellent communication at all levels and across boundaries, verbal and written.
• Exposure to Budget Management
• Ability to lead and manage projects
• Evidence of quantative and qualitive research experience
• A proactive self starter
• Creativity - ability to spot opportunities and trends

• Degree in relevant field would be desirable
