Global Application Architect


The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring proper architectural alignment, driving pre-project planning (including business cases) also assisting with design and delivery of agreed projects and guiding application integration at infrastructure as well application level in conjunction with the other Architects, together with overall technical leadership and guidance on our partner's application development, maintenance and operations portfolio.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Documentation of agreed IT Applications Architecture.
  • Leading pre-project activities including requirements confirmation, business case and high level design for application development and change.
  • Design, management, administration and integration of global IT applications covering back-office (Enterprise) applications, middleware and front-line applications.
  • Ownership at the architectural and design level of certain key systems including business reporting and BI.
  • Guiding the preparation of development and test platforms and ensuring cost-effective and risk-free deployment into production for new and amended applications.
  • Standardization and consolidation of diversified application platforms, where possible.
  • Capacity planning, security management (in conjunction with Global Security Architect), system performance monitoring and benchmarking.
  • Coordination with our partner's internationally distributed IT departments and IT support specialists for the purpose of supporting over 50 sites distributed over 35 countries.
  • At least 5 to 7 years' experience working in a senior technical role advising on applications architecture and application design with a focus on integrated and blended delivery models (internal applications/hosted applications/Cloud-based).
  • Significant involvement in solutions design and bid creation also business process modeling including the financial and commercial aspects as well as technical aspects of application delivery.
  • Must have architected and participated in leading the delivery of at least two complex IT development and integration projects, ideally with global focus.
  • Team player with knowledge and experience of working in a high pressure project delivery environment with senior stakeholder communication skills.
IT Knowledge:

(Candidates should have a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a majority of the following areas)
  • Typical Contact Centre applications stack:
    - Workforce Management
    - Inbound and Outbound Call Handling
    - IVR / Call Recording / Speech Analytics
    - CRM / Knowledge Management
  • ERP/BI experience (SAP, BO, etc).
  • Understanding of Microsoft-based development and operations environments including virtualization technologies and load balancing methods.
  • Web applications development experience.
  • Cloud solutions knowledge (must include IaaS, SaaS and BPaaS) and ideally working knowledge of MS Azure and Amazon both provisioning and development.
  • Aware of IT security standards, processes and tools.
  • Experience of working in legacy environment moving to Web/Cloud/BYOD/Social Apps model.
(Specific knowledge in majority of the following applications development platforms and languages)
  • ASP.NET Web Development.
  • MS SQL (DB used for all of our .NET apps).
  • PHP/MySQL.
  • VB and C# languages from framework 1.0 to 4.0.
  • JavaScript, JQuery, and LINQ.
  • MVC, WCF and WPF.
  • MS SQL Server is the database system used for all .NET applications.
  • IIS 6.0 and 7.0+ used as hosting services and deployment of .NET applications also
  • IIS and MS SQL Server are used on Cloud platforms.
  • Sharepoint - Designer and Central Administration knowledge.
  • IDE & Visual Studio.
  • Python scripting -load scripts, parsers, etc.
  • ETL - development of SSIS, SSAS, SSRS packages
  • Data Cube development and management - e.g. Crystal reports, Business Objects.
  • Telerik, Kendo UI, Umbraco - example third party technologies used in development.
  • Cloud deployment and applications administration.
  • Oracle DB knowledge and skills including experience in data modeling and design.
  • Call Centre knowledge especially CRM service level indicator tracking and reporting.

  • SQL server 2000/2005/2008
  • Microsoft Online Services
  • Veritas Netbackup and/or Backup Exec
  • Symantec Antivirus software
  • HP hardware platforms
  • Software and hardware clustering
  • SAN and NAS storages
